Gary Simon is one of my favorite designers. He has been designing for a long time (10 years I think) and is one of those guys that consistently delivers great designs. He recently launched his course DesignCourse.com and it looks really great.
As such, I've asked him to write a little bit about his online design course and tell all of you about it. Personally, I think it's a great idea for those who cannot afford to pay a designer to consistently make changes to their landing pages. It's also great for those who want to better their design skills.
Hey! My name is Gary Simon and I’ve been a designer for about a decade and I just recently launched a service, DesignCourse.com. I’ve worked with just about 1,000 clients and a decent percentage always wished they could design their own projects. Until now, it has been relatively difficult to find good tutorials that will show the exact work flow and processes involved in building good looking websites, landing pages and logos.
Everyone here probably understands the importance of effective design, whether it be for a full website, or a landing page. Unfortunately most affiliate marketers and business owners aren’t equipped with the skills necessary to tackle the design aspects of their own businesses and projects. This is where they must rely on paying designers, and if you’ve been around for awhile, you know that not every project turns out how you envisioned.
So this is why I launched my web design course. It’s very simple and straight forward.The service features just about 20 hours worth of video tutorials that show me designing with commentary, real projects from start to finish. You get to see exactly how a real designer tackles full design projects, beginning with the logo, and ending with the HTML/CSS.
There are 6 web design projects with even more logo projects.
At the very least, the course will provide you with a solid foundation in which you can begin to tackle your own projects. Being able to launch projects when you want and not having to rely on designers is always a huge positive.

Yep… had a look…maybe something I will invest in… It’s great to be able to make changes when you want and have the ability to do so without having to get the designer to see it from your point of view… not always easy!
The price is quite reasonable and I guess you could easily recoup this freelancing your new skills…

Looks from this post that Gary Simon is really a great designers and this is very good design course that one can learn well from such a great expert.
What a great idea! I’ve been trying to learn some new design tricks using YouTube videos and other tutorials, but to have a personal recommendation is always nice. I’ll have to check out Gary’s site.
I should really pay for a course like this. I can do basic design work, but I know I could learn a lot. If I had actual design skills, my business would be doing a lot better.

One doesn’t always realise the value of in-house designers, but very few people have that luxury and if you’re an internet professional some design skills are really handy.

This is a great idea, knowing how to design your own layout can save you lots of money in the future.
Awesome, I will definately check this out. I’m able to do some basic tweaking of website templates, but when it comes to design changes things are getting worse.
