Check out the Jon Fisher Competition!

If you have not already got your valentines day offers up, DO IT QUICKLY!

It's times like these where you can utilize the time of the year to make some quick and easy money! This is why I have decided to write a Reviewme review for 1800Flowers.com.

If you recall a while back there was an amazing post on Digitalpoint forums by CDF Networks which explained how he used holiday seasons to make over $1000 per hour. Sweet! I want in on that action.

Using things like Google Trends, we can see there is a huge search for flowers near valentines day. (Note to self, dont forget valentines day!!!)

Now would be a great time to join their affiliate program and bid on great terms like "dozen roses" and such. Make sure that every keyword you bid on is linked properly! For example you would not want to direct every keyword directly to their home page! That would not be targeted enough.

Instead direct the links (for this example "dozen roses") to a place such as: http://www.1800flowers.com/rose-elegance-dozen-roses or dozen roses

My advice generally is to use these bigger names in your promotions simply due to brand recognition. MOST people should be able to recognize the name "1-800-Flowers" and as such it makes it loads easier for you to actually sell their product!

To promote this offer you're going to want to promote them via: Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, And Microsoft Adcenter. Dont sell yourself short, use all the traffic you can.

Now, get to working as you only have a few very high volume days left. :)

Hehe… I just love seasonals… Fools day… Errr… Valentine’s day it’s just great, because most people nowadays just want cheap things, that look like expensive things. =)

Great point! Cheap but expensive looking.

But what i’m wondering if its actually OK to bid on certain keywords like 1800flowers and stuff like that. I’ve had some issues with Adwords and YSM being picky on certain “trademarked” terms.

Rachid: these type of keywords you want to make sure with your affiliate contact / manager. :)

I generally like to give them a list of keywords that are more shady just to make sure its ok.

Yes. Jonathan, that brings me to a post that I’ve read, maybe last month, that talked about knowing and talking regularly with your campaign manager. I can’t find it. :P But, yes Rachid, most companies don’t like us to bid on their name. Maybe because when people search for their brand name, they are searching for the company itself, so, if the person already knows the company services, and, inclusively, are searching for it, maybe there’s no point in paying the affiliate a comission just because the customer didn’t know the exact domain for their website.
