Adwords DeSlappage

Recently I had a campaign doing really well. There was one main keyword bringing in a huge amount of traffic.

Things were great but then BOOM, Google Slap. POOR Quality score from a GREAT quality score (with a $0.02 min bid) literally over night.

So what did I do? Nothing. I left it there. It was deactivated and I found other ways to get traffic till I could work on that keyword's issue.

This morning I look and after about 3 days, it seems the quality score got recalculated again. Odd. Now I can run the keyword with no issues.

This goes to show that sometimes you just need to give it a couple days before you make any huge changes.

I’ve had that happen on few times on one of my campaigns. I seem to have a few keywords that go inactive then a few days later they are active again. It’s truly bizzarre.

That’s what makes google so annoying and seems arbitrary, I guess we are all at the mercy of the “algorithim”

Too bad that regular users use Google, and that’s the users we seek. If it wasn’t for that I’d abandon Google. :-P First, the adsense insane bans. Now, this… :-S
