So.... Losing 10lbs is proving a lot harder than I originally expected. Thankfully, I'm on a steady path of losing a little weight each week. The last couple weeks I was stuck at 184.5 lbs and FINALLY I am below that weight!
As of this last Wednesday, I am at:

Wahoo! 183.5 lbs!
Running out of time!!
While I want to celebrate the loss of another pound, I am running out of time to take myself from 189 lbs (starting weight of the competition) down to 179 lbs (goal weight).
I have just a few weeks now to be able to pull it together to lose another 4.5 lbs!
I've been picking up the exercise routine and it's been a bit more intense compared to when I started.
This last Wednesday we ran on a trail for roughly 20 minutes without stopping. It was pretty tough compared to the cushy track or the ease of the treadmill. After that, we came back my friend Kanoa's house and jumped rope for about 5 minutes straight. (The video was before the time started so I wouldn't be out of breath haha). Lastly, we did about 7 different ab exercises.
It was a great work out for sure!
Dietary Changes
The hardest thing for me to change is the way I eat. I have some weeks where I have meetings over lunch 4-5 times. Mainly the focus for me is not trying to not eat out because I love it. The focus is trying to order more healthy, drink more water, and most importantly stop eating when I am full.
My parents always taught me to eat everything on my plate and to be quite honest, it's something I'll never pass on to my own kids. It's always hard for me to stop and pass up on the rest of a really good meal but I've been getting better at simply stopping when I am full.
Lastly, I realized how many calories even 1% milk has... A lot! It's because of this that I have tried to scale back on my consumption of milk as a substitute to soda. I love a nice cold cup of milk poured over a glass full of ice! Hahaha.
Goal
My goal for this competition is to hit 179 lbs but my real goal is to get down to about 175 lbs. I don't want to go any less than that because I want to gain muscle mass, but not a ton of muscle.
I don't want to end up like Greg Valentino after all!

whoa on the Greg Valentino muscle, is that even healthy? hehe
I would say the biggest thing is just keeping your diet in check, and you will get to your target weight of 175
Till then,

Dang, that ain’t muscle, that looks like a overgrown tumor! Just kidding…
Overgrown tumor lol, that’s what I was thinking exactly.
Hey Jonathan, can I make a quick suggestion for your Feedburner feed? There is a way through feedburner to display how many comments are on a post at the bottom of the feed. Right now you don’t have it turned on.
I read your Blog via my RSS reader and it would be much easier if I could click on the comment link at the bottom of the post instead of having to scroll up to the top. It’s not a major thing, but it does make it a bit more convenient.
Also, I see in the pictures that you weigh yourself with your shoes on. Not sure if you know this but depending on what type of clothing you’re wearing (ie. jeans, shoes) etc., they can weigh a few pounds at least.
That’s the steroids are good guy, isn’t it. He’s pretty over the top and sick looking.
Glad to finally hear of an update on the weight loss challenge, as I’ve been keeping up with yours and Tyler’s progress on the weight loss.
Just an idea, that came to my mind… it would be cool if your Fiance joined in a special appearance on one of these weight loss challenge videos, she doesn’t have to be on camera, but maybe just a voice over would be really neat, kinda of like a couple working towards a goal together. Maybe she could interview you or something.

Regarding: “I have just a few weeks now to be able to pull it together to lose another 4.5 lbs!”
I hope that was a typo and you realize it’s only a few days left, not a few weeks
you can easily drop the 5 pounds on the last day by not drinking water or eating, going for a run, and jumping on the bike.
i hope that you realize that your weight fluctuates up and down by more than a pound throughout the day.
if you want to lose weight, it’s pretty simple. burn more calories than you take in.
20 minute runs aren’t going to get you far… if 20 mins is as far as you can go without dying, run 20 minutes twice or even three times a day until you can get yourself up to 60 minutes without stopping
cross training by doing weight lifting as well as running will help build lean muscle mass while attacking fat, as well
that pic is gross lol
I think you have like two days left?

I agree with dustin, it just looks like a well frowing tumor! I mean it will just surprise someone for the first time.
