Affiliate Challenge Weight Update

For those who don't know, I am currently over half way through a contest with Tyler Cruz to lose 10lbs in 10 weeks. The loser has to pay $500 to those who thought they would lose.

What a good week this has been!!! :) I'll let the weight speak for itself.

Weight Jonathan Volk

Last week (5/13) I had gained a pound. It was sad, so I decided to keep cutting the calories and go into overdrive. It seems to have paid off!

5/13/09 - Wednesday - 186.5 lbs
5/21/09 - Wednesday - 184 lbs
Lost: 2.5 lbs!

That's a pretty significant drop!

Here is the scary part... I need to lose 5 more lbs in the next 28 days or I will be out of $500! We shall see what happens. I don't know what I love more... eating delicious food a bit more or $500. Hahaha! I guess the results will speak for themselves.

Workout

This weeks workout was not too intense because of a busy, busy day.

The great part is that I felt great while running. I was in a groove and I feel much healthier and stronger than when I first started. Progress, oh sweet progress.

I jumped rope for 2 minutes straight with Kanoa (who I work out with), and then ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes almost the whole time jogging or running. The only time I wasn't running or jogging was when I did that video and a 45 second fast paced walking break.

Normally, after 20 minutes I would be wanting to die but surprisingly after 20 minutes I was tired and sweating like crazy, but my heart felt like it could go another 10 minutes before feeling like I felt the first week! Heh!

Results So Far:

Again, the main emphasis in this challenge is to not only lose weight but to be healthier overall. After really changing my lifestyle a bit, I have felt so much healthier, happier, and "better."

I always thought of how I would HATE to have to work out, watch my weight, etc as a kid but the more I do it, the more I love it!

You can get involved

Shortly, there will be an opportunity for you to live a happier, healthier life style and get some super awesome prizes in the process! (Motivation much?! ;) )

The post on that will be coming soon!

Yeah! Nice work dude, I’m confident you’re gonna win.

    2. Niiiiice dude! Way to shed those pounds! I know Tyler is also doing pretty well, so I’m excited to see who comes out victorious.

How bout adding some drumming to the workout and make that a video ;-) I know I sweat ridiculously after playing for an hour on the set, so I think that might help.

You know what they say, the more you switch up your workout routine the faster you’ll see results. It’s all about muscle confusion! (Plus, I’ll be honest…I really want to see you bust out some paradiddles haha)

best of luck you will have success in future. Very nice work keep it continue.

Congrats on a better week than last, have you ever tried interval training on a treadmill? I like jogging for say five minutes then sprinting for two or three and carrying that on for a while, seems to be affective for me.

Good luck with the contest between you and tyler. I know how it feels when you either lose weight or gain that muscle and people notice or you noticeably notice it in the mirror itself when you look =]

i used to work out, go to the gym everyday back when i used to live in VA cause it was open 24 hours, but now that im in NJ i havent been for 4 years and i’ve gained a roll or two haha

but anyways good luck on this contest

    6. Good job jonathan :) Keep doing well

it took you an entire week to lose 2.5 pounds? I lose that taking a shit. 10 weeks to lose 10 pounds?

Juan… the best way to lose weight is nice and slow… I wouldn’t exactly call it healthy if he had to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

        Till then,

        Jean

    9. [...] rival in this competition, Jonathan Volk, appeared to have a good week last week, having lost a total of 5 pounds. We are now pretty much neck and neck. We also know that we really need to start kicking things up [...]

    10. I really need to get in on a challenge like that, although for less money because I’m a little lazy lately. It’s easy to sit around on the computer eating bad food all day. It definitely does feel good to get out and work up a sweat…still working on finding good tasting food that is healthy though.

You are right food is big reason of weight gaining. if we will become conscious about such food so it will really prove beneficial for us.

Muscle Confusion? haha is this a P90x infomercial?

Anyways 10 pounds in 10 weeks? That seems like setting such an easily attainable goal that you’ll half-ass it until the last week and cut it all off by actually working out then. Wasn’t it more fun trying to make x,xxx a day that xx in the A-Game? Smalls goals are great for creating apathy towards them, thats why you want to make 20MM this year, not 2MM.
