So it's finally official, Maria and I purchased a new home now that our Wedding is getting closer.
It's a nice 2950 Square Ft home just about 30 minutes outside of San Francisco, California on a 28,000 sq foot lot. We liked it because it was brand new (which are becoming harder to find now that the market has slowed down), is big enough for us to grow into, is green certified, and finally, we love it!
We will be getting the keys in just about a week and I will move in shortly after. After we are married, Maria will move in.
Today, I just have some exterior photos but I will follow up with a video tour once I am moved in for the sake of following in John Chow's footsteps.
Anyways, we are very excited! Thanks to AzoogleAds for pretty much being the main source of income to allow me to buy this house! I HIGHLY recommend signing up with them if you have not already!
Thanks to all the other companies I work with who have helped me achieve the level of success that has enabled me to buy this house as well.

Awesome, congratulations! You’ll have lots of fun now, owning a home is just so much different than renting or whatever
Yea, It’s going to be a new experience now that we can do whatever we want to the place, etc. Excited for sure.
Wow congrats man! Looks like things are really taking off on the personal side of things for you. A great house to give you guys a great start after the marriage.
Pretty decent lot size for a new California home….these days the new builds seem to all be about an arms reach away from the neighbors.
Congrats!
Yea, life is going great right now.
The lot size is huge but a good majority of it is hillside. Still enough room to eventually put a nice pool!
good job, how much was the house?
Hello,
Is it possible to know the price range? So I can compare with my country’s price market.
Congrats on the good work!
It was over $500k, that’s all I’m saying!
Hehe
Congrats Jonathan, quite amazing! Btw, congrats on your girlfriend too, she is amazing as well
!
Thanks! I think she’s amazing too – that’s why I put the ring on her finger! hehe
Congrats! I hope you guys have many years together in it.
Thanks James!
Great looking house. Congrats!
Thanks Ian!
Nice work dude! Have fun furniture shopping. It’ll be a good test of your future marriage
Hey Jon,
This is a real achievement mate. Nice work
My only question is: Did you pay with a big suit case full of cash?
Keep rockin
Looks great! Congratulations!
If they’re visible, please point out some of the features that make it “green” when you do your tour (although most often, these things are behind the scenes).
Hey Eric!
Great question. Couple quick things about it being green. There are a certain amount of “points” your house has to have in order to be considered green. These points are calculated by a California gov agency.
The house has some features such as:
- Energy Star Appliances
- Specialized insulation. They use recycled cellulose insulation and caulk the joints before installing giving it a R36 insulation factor.
- Dual flush toilets ( Meaning you use less water when you flush non solids )
- Sensor lights. The exterior lights only come on when it’s dark.
- Rain sensor. If it rains, this sensor turns off the sprinkler system for 24 hours.
- Certain green building materials
- Thicker windows than usual. This helps insulate more I suppose.
- And yea… That’s all I can think of off the top of my head! Hehe
Wow… awesome. Yeah, with 3 kids of my own, I need to install sensor lights. I swear I walk around the house many times a day, just turning off lights.
I like the extra insulation – I should have done that when I remodeled our house, especially with the cold winters we have here.
Congrats. This is a good time to buy a house.
Congrats! I wouldn’t go all MTV cribs w/ it though… what might seem like a luxury home in California is actually pretty run of the mill most other places. Worst state to buy a home in unless you’re a pot head… and well, lets face it – you’re not.
You’ve actually missed the point. It’s just for fun.
Thanks though! heh
Congrats. bro’! Seems like a great time to pick up a house and your house looks great.!
~3,000 sq. ft. in the Bay Area is no joke with regards to price.
Congrats. again! When’s the house warming?
Thanks! Next 202 meetup!
Hahaha jk
Congrats, Jonathan – I love the double thumbs up too, haha. Maybe I’ll use it for a home grant offer landing page pic
Can’t wait to see the videos!
Very nice place. And a modest place. Thanks for being real. I’m happy for you. At least you didn’t get some big mansion and 5 sports cars in a large drive way showing off you income. I’m sure you could do it, but you kept it modest. Thank you.
Congrats man, I just bought my first house a couple weeks ago! Gotta love it.
Congrats Jonathan ! It’s a nice house. Considering the ridiculous real estate prices here in New Delhi, India, such a house here will easily cost around 3 million dollars. I’m sure it cost you less there.
But it really feels good to see your success. Been reading your blog since last one month. Also checked your old posts about how you had set goals and achieved them. Very inspiring. Great work !
Looks great, Jonathan. Huge congrats to you.

congrats on getting the house!
Jon, are the prices where you bought the house expensive than other suburbs around you?
I’m trying to compare the prices of house here in Toronto suburbs. A 3000 sq ft house will cost about 600k to 750k depending on the city in GTA.
Hey Jon
Congrats! Nice House man
Sincerely
Amit
Looks like a pretty nice house… can’t wait until you do the MTV Cribs thing… you should have some random people sitting in one of the rooms and be like “that’s my posse/entourage… they get paid to sit there!”
