Now Selling Ad Space

Just a small site update. For those interested, I am selling banner space on the home page for just $25 per month.

My goal was to start selling banner space once I hit 100 RSS readers and today I had 96 (which is close enough for me).

Not to offend, just wondering. Why o why would you sell adspace on your face for $25 a month when you make ~$1000 a day. Curious…

In this business it’s all about diversification. :)

That’s a big ask mate! . 100 subscribers would mean no more than about 10 uniques a day - that is “miniscule” traffic and far too premature to seek advertising payouts. And if you are making this great amount of money daily with PPC, why would you want to insult your readers with the pesky amount of $25 monthly for which they will expect monthly reports on ctr’s!! I am confused - no make that bemused. Diversification - pfff! Foolhardy - yes!

Hey Rox. :) You seem to fail at understanding how Feedburner counts an RSS Reader. It is a person who reads the blog every day via the RSS.

Not to mention this site gets roughly 300 uniques per day. :)

Thanks though!

Cool blog and nice information.

I’d like to buy one for march, is it possible to reseve?

Jonathan Volk says 23rd January @ 18:15

Hey Max! Unfortunately, I have other people already interested in purchasing the spot and it’s on a first come first serve basis. If you contact me using the contact information and get to it first, its yours! :)

Thanks,
Jonathan

Totally understand the concept of how Feedburner provides its stats. Even on days when my FB icon has escalated to 15,000 - the uniques/traffic for those days did not support such huge spikes. My theories are based on real life traffic/experience on a blog that’s nearly 4 years old - (which BTW took a Google PR whack in October 2007 — its now undergoing a timely redesign, and is a bit bare on the sides!! ) .

Without exceptional rankings in the SERPs on a number of targeted keyphrases, “Uniques” do not regularly overtake the FB figure. Especially when one examines the claims of a blogger like the infamous JChow… mmhh! That boy lives dangerously.. by pitting himself against a billion dollar industry giant. Its only a matter of time before he comes out the loser… his style does nothing to endear his readers and gain their loyalty.

Wish you nothing but positive, upward strides with your PPC marketing.
