So far, May has been a record breaking month for my company. I am just so excited to see things progress as the summer months roll around! So far this month I have broken many company records (well... I mean personal records since I'm the only one in the company really)
Just to name a few...
- Best Sales in 1 Day... I'm not going to put how much but it was a good amount
- Best Sales in 1 Week... Again...
- Best Sales in 1 Month... :D... Do you see a pattern here?
Well, things are really gearing up for some major company breakthrough! I'm a man with goals and I think it's important to set time periods for those goals. A common theme among my generation (I'm talking like 25 and younger), is to not set goals for ourselves; when we do set goals it's generally not on a time line.
I own a forum, www.mmoccforum.com, which has about 1700+ registered members; most members are the age of 18 or below. This forum focuses on the development and playing a certain genre of games called MMOCC games. Most of these companies are run by younger kids which is great! I think it's great to get your feet wet while you're young. The common mistake however is these teens will start making the game and not set goals of any type.
Most announcements consist of, "Our game is coming out soon! Maybe even within a week.*" Then you look at the * to read "date not for sure." You look back a week later and there has been little progress except maybe a new forum... woo.
All that basically to say it's important we set timed goals. If you want to make a game, say I need to have this done in 1 Year. Did you know that if you do this, you will be the top 3% of the free world that actually does set written, timed goals? Perhaps what's even more interesting is that of those who actually write the goals down and set a goal date... a HUGE majority accomplish those goals!
I set strict deadlines for my business and I work like crazy till I see those goals come to pass. My business goals are quite large for the summer months ahead. So large I'm not going to even post it. All I will say is I'm hoping to break the 5 figures / month bracket by next month in total revenue. God willing, I will do it... At least I'm on track to do it! I leave it in God's hands because I know that through Him, all is possible.

You should tell them about setting goals on the forum; I’m sure they could all benefit from it.
