Daily Lists and Goals

Monday, Jul 2nd, 2007 by Jonathan Volk

This time of the year is great. I now have some actual time to devote to my websites yet it feels like time is slipping by faster and faster.

What I’ve decided to do (per my genius of a Dad’s suggestion) is to write a list of things I need to do each day. Then, next to each item, I will list the most important things in order: A1, A2, A3, A4, etc. Next, less important things will get listed, B1, B2, B3, etc. All of the items on the A list must be done before I start the B list.

This is a common strategy used to get a LOT done in a short period of time. Setting short term / daily lists and goals really does increase productivity. When it comes down to it, the more I get done, the more I can make and the more free time I will have.

It does take discipline to do it but it’s well worth it. I believe this is what sets many people apart who are successful. This is a common practice my Dad uses in his business and it really does show. For his business in 2005 through 2006 he tripled his business sales. This year he’s nearly doubling that. If you know much about business growth, that’s amazing.

Recently I had my grandparents from Ohio down and they were talking about my great uncles, and great grandparents and such. Many were entrepreneurs who tried starting businesses throughout their lives. It was neat to know it’s in the family. As for me, I know this is one of my dreams and passions. I am already living something I dreamed about doing as a child.
