This year, like last year, I do not plan to leave the house on Black Friday. Instead, I plan on sitting in front of the fire place, on my laptop, with my wife, enjoying the holiday season.

That doesn't mean I don't plan on getting all my shopping done!

In case you were unaware, most retailers hold amazing online deals on Black Friday (Day after thanksgiving for those who do not know). Which brings me to my next point. Why go face the (death) craziness of going to the actual store, when you can sit comfortably at home?

I think that this realization will become more and more realized as time progresses. This is something to think about as an internet marketer.

I've been watching sites like BFAds.net and Blackfriday.info and have seen some great deals. I plan on getting nearly all my Christmas/Holiday shopping done on that day.

While I can't say what I will be getting because my family reads this blog at times, I will say that I have been wanting a PS3 and a Wii for a while and am hoping to be able to get those for the house. ;)

That being said, who plans on going shopping in a physical store that day? And Why? What do you plan on getting?

  1. I hate going to the stores when they get super busy like that. Sure you can get some good deals, but you pay for it through headaches and time wasted. I’m sure online Black Friday deals will become more popular in the coming years.

I have a ton of Amazon rewards certificates from my Chase Card from buying PPC and PPV the past 6 months so i’m going to cash those in and get my girls some good stuff…

I completely agree- why deal with crazy lines and annoying crowds when you can get the same discounts online. Unfortunately (and fortunately) my parents will be in town- and while I love seeing them, I’m sure I’ll get woken up at 4am to hit the sales.

  5. You are right on one hand. But, there are some amazing deals out there if you are lucky enough to get there earlier than everyone else. The other side of iti s that there is absolutely no reason to go at 9:00AM, everything has already been picked up by then.

I hate shopping – can I outsource that?

  7. Paul says:

I want one of those 1.2 inch thick LED tv’s but I may wait until next year…

  8. I only go to Fry’s Electronics. It is more of my tradition than any thing. I have been going at 2am since they opened the store up. Sad, Yea I know but it is still fun! And will I be there in the cold this year waiting inline freezing my tail off? Hell yea on with tradition!

Thanks for the heads up- kind of dumb but I hadn’t even thought of hitting online stores instead of the nearby walmart. Last time I went I got mobbed by ladies dashing for the pay as you go cell phones and it wasn’t pretty :D

  10. My wife and I went to Walmart last year. It was pretty crazy, but our store actually had a pretty smart plan. They just let people in the store early and cut big plastic coverings off the “Black Friday Special” products at 6am or whatever time it was.
The deals were pretty sick, but it was also busier than I’ve ever seen Walmart.
Are the deals online just as good? I’ll have to check out those pages you mentioned.

  11. I have one issue with online shopping: When I’m getting a gift for someone most of the time I don’t know what I’m going to buy till I buy it.
When in the store you see all kinds of stuff and I can easily choose one, but online it’s much harder to get an impression of all that’s available.

So offline takes less time for me in these kinds of situations.

But when I know exactly what I want and I don’t need it immediately I order it online quite often.

  12. Any of the shopping I plan on doing that day will be done strictly online. I have no interest in being jostled around in stores by the masses of other people and standing in long lines. I’ll let the products I want come to me.

I’ve decided I am going to bear the crowd and go in to Joann’s Fabrics, only because I’d hate to purchase any fabric I can’t touch and feel for quality. Otherwise I am all in for Cyber Monday! Didja know about that husband of mine? Many retailers do their major online sales on Monday!

  14. I can’t wait for black friday. I am going to buy so much stuff

  15. Experimental says:

I am going to the mall with my friends sometime in March. Im probably going to buy a lot of cute tops from abercrombie or hollister. I like the henleys. Also i luv those plaid bermuda shorts.
