The other day, Jacob and I were researching advertisements on a normal work Saturday.

It never ceases to amaze me what we find but this particular day proved especially hilarious. For the first time ever, every single ad on the adboard was a dating advertisement with the exception of 1 ad. That's 96% of the ads! HAHA!

It was so funny we had to take a screenshot - but to ensure that nobody copies the ads or adtext, we blurred it, shrunk it, and hopefully protected them as much as possible. I also wont say what demographic this is except for the fact that it was a male account.

That being said, facebook dating campaigns are really competitive if you could not tell. Having 96% of ads be dating ads means that these ads really have to be different to stick out.

If you're able to get something else to work for the same demographic, guess who sticks out more automatically? You.

Either way, I still found this hilarious.

I’m just surprised they all were able to get dating through. I guess as long as you keep trying and changing your landing page you’ll get through.

  2. Yeah ive been researching how to make money on facebook for awhile now, and I find that it seems pretty cost effective. Especially since the room for error is relativily slim. Look at these ads they are so small. The only thing you have to do is these small ads, then make sure you pick the right offer that has a good conversion rate. Still surprising to see such a market dominance in the dating niche.

  3. Can anyone make money with all that competition? There are not them many single people on Facebook looking to join networks.

haha 5 of those ads are mine. Some have been running for over 6 months but every once in a while they will randomly smack one.

The dating ads are getting ridiculously too competitive on facebook after both Shoemoney and Justin Dupre posted “how-to” guides.

My normally good volume on those ads went to absolute SHIT after shoemoney’s how to.

getting the damn things approved is just so unbelievably irregular. Unreal that an operation of that size is so crap.

  6. Bizzy says:

interesting. I don’t know if Ive found the magic formula but I have submitted 50 ads and all have been approved the first try. This includes dating, and rebills…

  7. AffPortal says:

That is amazing. I am yet to get an ad through on FB that has anything that even resembles woman with an B cup or better.

  8. This is remarkable. It was really hillarious day.

I actually got a date when i singed up for Mate1!

We’ve had success getting dating campaigns approved when we submit in the middle of the night.

  11. It was also said on Wickedfire how impressions have been harder to come by after ASE ‘09. Flocks of n00bs run to FB causing upped bids, increase competition, and lower impressions for all. And I’m sure the Shoemoney/JustinDupre posts didn’t help.

I haven’t personally received more than max 10.000 impressions (average of 0 to 100 imps though) on any new ad submitted the last few weeks. All campaigns for dating are now duds.

It is simply amazing, I can not believe ….

  13. Kinda easy to believe that Facebook is advertised on this way.
