Newsletters:
Just a random affiliate thought here.
If you ever find a great niche that is making you a ton of money, or is converting really well, try finding websites in your niche that has a newsletter. If the site is fairly good quality, contact the web master and ask if you can purchase an ad in their next newsletter. Personally I think reviews are the best but banners, links, etc should work as well.
These days there are way more web masters than there are marketers. I think it's safe to say that MOST people do not monetize their website effectively and as such you can capitalize on that fact.
Banners:
If you are running an ad that is doing really well for you, find natural ranking sites for your search terms and offer to buy ad banners. Think about how much you pay per click and try to get less than that at the very minimum.
Do a small test at first and go large if it's profitable.
