Learn the techniques I used to make over $4,000,000 in affiliate commissions! Check out my Free Affiliate Marketing Guide and learn the "how to" for Facebook Ads, PPC Affiliate Marketing, PPV / CPV Affiliate Marketing, And Media Buying!

Media Buys CoachYou've probably never really heard much about media buying unless you've already done it.

Being in this industry for a while now, I have many friends who made millions of dollars online by doing media buying.

It is an area of the industry that few people talk about. When they do talk about it, information is very limited and vague.

This is all for good reason however. The guys on the top of media buying have reported to me making as much as $100,000 per day. I've even heard of a guy who did over $400,000 on a single day. Impressive for sure. This is all done with media buying.

What is media buying?

Media buying is where you buy up banner advertisement space on a network of sites or a single site. Generally you pay per 1000 impressions of the banner advertisement.

This method of advertising can allow you to purchase millions (or billions) of banner impressions.

Learn about Media Buying

Media buying has been a topic that you just couldn't find any information on... that is, until today!

Today the same people who run PPC Coach have launched a new coaching program called media buys coach.

This is a coaching program where you will learn how to do media buys for affiliate offers!

There has NEVER been a program like this offered. Not trying to hype it, but this information seriously has never been released before.

Who Runs Media buys Coach?

The same people who Run PPC Coach, which I am a strong supporter of, have started this up. Will, the owner of PPC Coach, has teamed up with a guy who is a very successful media buyer.

Before you signup, I should say that if you have not had any success in the affiliate world, you might want to start off with PPC Coach First.

If you're a small to large affiliate, Media buys Coach is a program that is seriously worth looking into. I even will be joining the course.

    Jonathan,

Great post on media buys! MediaBuysCoach.com should really open up the doors to affiliates interested in Media Buying but who lack the resources, network, and experience.

Will and Carl put together a great site and affiliates looking to scale up their campaigns should def check it out.

  2. I actually tried media buying once, but it didn’t work out so well.

It probably didn’t help that I only paid 2 dollars for PTR impressions. Most of them probably couldn’t even speak english. :P

    Maybe I need this program.

  3. Diabetis says:

So this is about cpm. How does it differs from other cpm?

  4. Good post on media buys coach. I agree that Compaigns shoud be chceked out.

  5. Justin says:

Would you say that using managed placements within AdWords could be considered media buying?

  6. Brad says:

I’ve personally know someone who’s doing 10k profit /day with media buys- with just 1 offer on one website. This stuff is really crazy when you get it to work. There is like unlimited trafffic to scale… it’s insane.

  7. I think media buying sounds like something that you could really profit from, but at the same time it could end up putting you in the red at a faster rate.

    • Yup! You can lose a ton of money if you don’t know how to do it right. This program will teach about out clauses, how to form contracts, etc in order to lose as little as possible.

  8. Peter says:

I dont think his course is worth taking at the moment. There have been so many complaints against Will’s PPC Coach program at the moment and his outdated information.

  9. Good Points you have there.. That is really helpful and I could see things that gives me a clear overview about media buys…
    Good review you have there.

  10. [...] not bragging, chances are they are selling you something. Selling out is fine, but not when you don’t even review the product, because if you did you’d realize it’s bullshit (Volk is actually on the few blogs [...]

  11. Jason says:

Thanks for the post Jonathan! Just a word of wisdom though, media buys are really for affiliates who have been in the business a while and mastered PPC. You will also need the upfront capital to actually make a buy and we’re talking $10k minimum for a single media buy. Unless you know what you’re doing I’d stick to PPC until you’re ready.

I’d like to learn media buying technique, trying hardly but still not understand.

  13. Sam says:

Very interesting. I’ve worked as blue chip media buyer for the last two years, with budgets in the millions sterling per month for display advertising.

None of my clients has ever turned a profit on display that you’re describing. So I’d like to see some evidence of your success?

The industry as a whole is using client path analysis just to JUSTIFY display spend. But theres no point to it in the affiliate world because last click wins.

    Essentially this is all bunk.

  14. dean dyer says:

jason has the best view on this. It’s about knowing what you are doing, and having done the keyword research prior to making such investments. Knowing what to buy is critical, and would make the differance in your success or failure… For me, it’s way too risky, and unnecessary. cause you can get the information they are selling , in so many other sites for completely free… and it dosen’t make since to pay for something when you can get it for free..
    Dah…

I’m currently a member of MBC, I signed up the first day it was launched. This forum from the beginning, I can tell is shaping up to be a very nice community, you definitely don’t what to miss out on. I highly recommend it. There are so many advantages to doing online media buys. See you on the inside .

  16. If you think ppc coach was a rip off then you’re probably not earning much and just need to stick with it or you fail to realize how much you learned from them or you just didn’t put the time to learn from a resource that had every bit of information you needed to start making money.

I don’t think you understand, Jonathan – unless you were a member of PPC Coach yourself. The draw of PPC Coach is to have a coach who is responsive and willing to guide you.

When you log in there, people ask questions and they go unanswered. It’s basically newbies helping newbies. PPC Coach completely turned me off to PPC.

what makes me mad is that it’s supposed to be designed for newbies, yet it is completely confusing for newbs. There’s no guidance – just access to an inactive forum and videos from 2007.

The only response I ever got back from him was when I gave him advice to move a banner which would yield him more conversions. Thanks for the help.

  17. Minimink says:

it media buying… although some might. Media buying in this sense is more doing direct to the website or going direct to a CPM network of sites.

  18. Thanks for the post, I guess it is just what i need.

  19. PPC Coach says:

    Hi Jonathan,

We did launch a new month 3 and it’s going very well. We also added a variation to the old poll technique. (I didn’t invent it, I just know it works).

I’ve got over 330 success stories now and we are just about to hit 100,000 posts in the forums. I’m giving back 100% of my commission on any 3rd party tool or service I recommend to get members the biggest discount possible. (If you don’t believe that you can verify it with any of the product or serivce providers I recommend).

We’re growing at a great rate and the newest thing coming down the pipe is the addition of fully automatic rules based bid management to the tracker, (along with improvements in how it updates costs and revenue information). Some people were having problems related to the setup of links and we’re addressing that issue as well.

The downside of having a site around as long as ppc coach, (going on 2 years now), is you will get people who have tried and failed. I feel for them, but I can’t help everyone no matter what I do. You cannot please everyone all the time no matter what. There will always be someone out there who has a negative opinion. I took part in the negativity recently and have since apologized for my reactions. I now prefer to look at things from a more positive viewpoint.

I answer about 100 emails daily, 100 private messages and tons of help desk tickets within 24 to 48 hours.

So, my site is not perfect, it’s not a magic pill, it’s not a shortcut. I’m not perfect either, nobody is. But anyone who is willing to put in the hours and do the work will succeed.

    :)

  20. [...] PPC Coach, Will, made a comment to me in the Media Buys Coach Review that I thought would be great to feature in this post. Hi [...]

  21. $400,000 in a single day? That’s extreme. I might try and this out and see if I could make some money. Thanks for letting us know about Media Buying ( I had not heard of it before ).

I’m a member of PPC Coach after Jonathan Volk recommended it personally, I’m in month 5 right now and I think it’s a great site for motivation. Before PPC Coach I was pretty aimless in what I was doing, but with PPC Coach and all its useful tools, you get goals and objectives which really helps when starting up in PPC.

Plus everyone posts their success, which is a great motivator!

  25. A lot of major companies are involved in media buying – seem to be doing well out of it. In fact, the challenge is to be able to get media deals without having to run through a load of middle men!

  26. susan says:

Cant you start this with just a few hundred dollars, by going to a few individual sites and buying a banner for the week or month? There are places where you can do that for 424 a site for a period of time to test.

  28. It’s not a review – I’m simply saying that I approve of the product that Will puts out (PPC Coach) and that this product is likely to be equally good. I have not used this product yet so as such I cannot say that it is worth it or not yet.

No review, just letting people know it exists. ;)
