This fine Saturday morning, I was relaxing, going through emails, and overall having a grand ol' time.
When searching for some information, I came across this site, which had one of the most eye catching ads on it that I have ever seen for a 125x125 ad space.
While I don't know if the Ad got double the clicks... you can see what I mean by the title.
I did a little screen capture video using Jing.
Pretty cool huh!

Haha that’s a really creative use of ad space and it really makes it stand out, if the ad was one long ad it wouldn’t really catch your eye but the clever use of two spaces as one really grabs you!
Good stuff. Very creative.
Very cool effect, but I doubt your average AM’er could afford the design work for something like that.
However, having multiple ad spots on the same site that are related to each other is a great idea!
It’s just two animated gifs. You don’t have to create one exactly like that, but use this as inspiration to start thinking outside of the box and make more money. You can do a setup like this in Photoshop yourself, for free.
That is way outside the box. It is amazing what you can do outside there.
Thanks for sharing the site!
What website was that on?

That is really amazing and creative use of space. I agree with Yoink that most AMers probably can’t afford to setup an ad block like that.
I wonder if any products would be interested in seting up ads like that for their affiliates. If it really doubles the CTR it would help both sides out.
I dunno if it’s too far out of someone’s budget. You can get something like this done for $30 – $50 on scriptlance.com or freelancer sites like it.
And would seem more like an investment then a purchase since it will most likely make you money.
Thanks for the input Justin! Great tip!
Great ad, very unique
Whoa! Sweet method, and it definitely draws they even more than a single tower ad would.
It’s worth noting that these ads are flash, which is nessicary to getting the animations to start at the same time so they’re sync’d up. Also, the same concept was used quite a while ago by Apple…

haha, you say double the clicks because it’s double the ad space.
It’s just like the Apple ads on CNN and some ads on ESPN.
totally cool, very creative indeed this can be done quite easily as a gif image.
Really hot stuff and not the cool……
The coolest 125*125 ads on our blog…
But,there is hot serving more from up on our head.
That’s pretty creative! Sure, it’s double the space but the first time anyone sees it, they’re bound to take a closer look.
It would have been even cooler if they used 4 125×125 ads instead of 2.
It is indeed a creative way of utilizing ad space. It does get my attention. Great work!
@ fatcow – Cooler, perhaps. But using 4 blocks would likely accomplish less than more b/c it would be too busy on the eye, especially if trying to get a message across as it would be difficult to get the end user to focus on any one block. Two blocks work best in this case, cheaper to develop and less costly to serve up.
I believe the only way to accomplish this effect is with Flash utilizing a rich media platform like Atlas (http://atlasrichmedia.com/) to accurately deliver the content. Here, timing is key and using two separate gif’s would almost be impossible to sync properly. Using one gif, to encompass both ad spots, would work but likely would not be an acceptable ad size format.
Very eyecatching indeed.
That kind of ad should certainly pay off … at least for now since it’s new. Once everybody will have that kind of ad on their website or blog, the readers eyes will get used and they’ll no longer pay attention.
Being new is the key in marketing. It makes you stand out of the crowd.
So congratulations to the people who came up with this !
