This has got to be one of the coolest and most innovative ideas I’ve ever seen. Mailbox Forwarding treats physical mail like email by providing you with a physical address to have your physical mail sent to, and they then scan it for you to view online.

How does it work?

When Mailbox Forwarding receives your mail, they first just scan the envelope. It’s then up to you to decide whether you want it to be opened to have the contents scanned in high res 200 dpi and uploaded as a PDF or have it destroyed by a shredder! After they open it and scan it, if you don’t need the physical mail you can then have it shredded, but you’ll still have it archived online. Or if you do need it, they hold it at their facility until you request it be sent to you. You’re always manually making the choice of when you want a piece of mail opened to be scanned then physically archived, opened then physically forwarded, forwarded unopened, scanned then shredded, or shredded unopened.

It doesn’t matter whether you want them to take in letters, bills, packages, or documents or whether it comes from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc: they’ll handle it. Receive a package at your Mailbox Forwarding address? Do you actually need the physical piece of mail in your hands? No problem. They can easily forward it to your actual address.

Security

With a system like this, it’s only natural to be worried about how safe it is to have your mail opened by someone else. However, Mailbox Forwarding has high standards in order to keep your mail private.
