I have a personal credit card that I have had for about 2 years. It's the credit card I use the most because I get 2% cash back on everything. It's great.
Yesterday night, I got a call from an Indian fellow representing my credit card and said that they wanted to thank me by giving me a $50 gas voucher card and some other small prizes.
I said will it cost me anything? And he said only the $2.00 shipping and handling... (sound familiar yet?)...
So I figured it would be done after I agreed but it wasn't over...
He continued on about verifying all my information which he made sure to take his sweet time on. Finally it came to what seemed like a final stretch.
He was asking me to verbally agree and as he began reading my smile grew from ear to ear. "And Sir you agree to get your free trial of such and such and free trial of such and such."
DOUBLE WHAMMY Subscriptions!?! These guys must be learning from some of you acai/colon guys! Hahahaha.
Before saying anything I said, "Byeeeee!!!!" And he said, "Sir wait! Click...."
I kinda made my day that much better.

My personal amex gives 1.5% on everything. Who is yours through?
It was a special HSBC Card (householdbank.com) before all the credit crunch began haha.
It’ never a benefit for you. It’s always about them.
That’s how most business operate nowadays
Jonathan,
Yeah, I get calls and emails wanting to send me eight million US dollars from Nigeria or Somalia after the death of my ‘relative’ there!
Or I can work for a company ‘collecting payments’ ninety-percent of which I am to send to them!
Man sounds a whole lot easier than my campaigns on Yahoo search results eh?
Come-ons are the backbone of ecommerce and telemarketing.

LOL. I remember I got a call once trying to offer me the same for enrolling into a free trial of their credit protection. The guy even had the nerve to say “You’d have to be stupid to not take advantage of this offer. I know you’ve got to be smart enough.” I really couldn’t believe it. Banks are hurting though right now as we all know, so who knows what kind of other dire tricks they will use. BTW. Cash back credit cards are great!
