2008 Recap:
In 2008, Surge Marketing Inc. (my online marketing business), had such an amazing year! I well surpassed the goals I thought that I had set high and hit low seven figures in gross sales for the year.
2008 proved to be expansive in both increase in knowledge and increase in gross sales.
2009 Goals:
2009 has already been proving to be a great year! Last year was a great year that exceeded my expectations by quite a lot. Because of this, I have set my goals very high for 2009 with a gross sales goal of $20 million.
Because this is so large compared to last year, I am constantly reminding myself of ways that I can increase to this amount.
Long Term Goals:
My heart is for people. I don't want to amass a bunch of wealth just so that I can horde it all to myself and have some million dollar sports car and a 50,000 square foot house.
See, no matter how many big boy toys I get, when I die, I still die and lose all the toys. Now, that doesn't mean, I don't like having nice things because I still love having the toys, just in moderation.
Instead of spending all my money on things that will fade away when I die, I want to invest my money into the one thing that I believe lasts forever, the soul. See when you invest into someone or a group of people, and change their lives for the better, you're investing into the eternal.

hi man,
i am reading your blog daily. nice to see your writing.

[...] Goals [...]
Hey Jonathan,
I’m glad you are ahead of schedule on your goals. I’m also glad you asked about our personal goals, because I’m staring at my goal chart above my monitor, thinking about how I’m going to hit the goals that I’ve set.
When it comes to affiliate marketing, I’m planning to hit at least 5-digit net profit per month by the end of March 2008. I know that’s possible after I received my first commission from affiliate marketing. Sky’s the limit after that!
Academically speaking, I’m trying my best to balance work/student life. I’m looking to getting a 3.0+ GPA this semester with my ridiculous course work you only find at Tech.
Other goals include getting a Corvette C6 (or similar) by the end of March, being more proactive at Church, and harboring the serial-social-entrepreneur mindset to change the world for the better through philanthropy and ministry.
Blessings,
Dan
Nice goals. I hope I will get to the sum where you are now when you will achieve the Goals. I have a question for you. I will sent to you through the contact page.
Hey Jon, my short term goal is now netting $100/day as I have just made my mark at net $50/day this week. This comes just in time b/c we just started tithing a full 10% of our income to our church and that has put us at an $800/month deficit in our budget. Very scary but we have faith as I’m sure you can relate to.
I want to match my salary with AM by August of 08 and double it w/in one year.
I want to put up five profitable and fully scaled long term campaigns to accomplish these goals.
My 96 Grand Cherokee has 170k miles on it so I will be needing a new truck soon and I would like to pay cash for it.
I have boated all my life on the Chesapeake Bay. I want to provide that for my daughters and wife so we want to upgrade our current boat to a weekender w/in two years.
I also want my wife to have the option to stay home with our youngest daughter full time.
Take Care Jon. Keep in touch man, I haven’t heard from you in a while.
Corey
Hi Jonathan!
My short-term goal is to make $5,000 in June 2008. I’m new at this and my first week has left me $400 in gross revenue, so I’m motivated. Thank you for the posts and I’m sure you’ll be doing a lot more
Hi Alan,
Is it possible for you to guide me. I am a good programmer.. but not a Aff. Marketter.
Rajesh
Hey Jonathan – great to see people post their goals up. As of yet I am no affiliate marketer – but I have posted my blogs goals.
Currently selling 1-2 products/day from my website. My goal is to be selling 10/day within 30 days. It shouldn’t be that hard given that I’m converting around 3%. Just need to drive some traffic!
I own a service based business- http://www.CommuniCanine.net – and my goal is to have my web based business – http://www.DogBehaviorOnline.com – replace my monthly income of $7-9k per month by the beginning of 2009.
Looking good Ty – You seem to have tonnes of info on that page. Best of luck for 2008.
Jonathan,
I’ve never noticed your goals page until today. That makes me want to setup mine!
I like your outlook on helping others… very respectable!
Clint
Nice goals mate. I share similar charitable ambitions except I’d not only like to just donate money I’d like to make macro decisions that will help end world sufferings. Churches & orphanages just scraps the surface. It’s evident that after decades of donations, that money alone is not enough.
My biggest question is how are you making this 80,000 per month? These 7 programs you display in your “About Me” section?
Great goals! It’s nice to see people with money doing good things.
I’d be very happy if I could make $3000/month online. Currently I am only at about $200-$300/month but in time I will get there.
Since you’re into helping people maybe you can help me get to my goal?
Thanks Jonathan,
Marko Nikolic
With your latest posts/numbers, I would imagine your GOALS are now behind you… or soon will be. Time for a new figure!
[...] Goals [...]
My immediate goal is the make $1,000/mo. After that I’ll adjust higher.
wow..I’m jealous of u..earning >100k per month..
I only need to earn get USD5k a month (i/e triple my income) to proof to my mum so I can quit my job..and its so hard!
I look forward to the days where I can work where ever and whenever I want on my biz and still be earning good money.
where does most of your income come from??
Wow, your goals are the same as mine! I have others too of course, as I’m sure you do too, but those are the most important ones. I want to make a safe place for children.
Very glad man you are achieving your goals. Great work and continue steaming on ahead.
great to see you are not a fat selfish loser, they are really great goals, here is something else you will be able to do with you money if you are nice, its good helping people, but its because of people that animals are dying, and that global warming is happening

Your MessageI agree wholeheartedly with that last part of your goals. Investing in the eternal soul – priceless. No better place to put the money, really, since everything just happens to require money. It’s kind of frustrating if you want to help others, but are so broke you’re powerless. VERY frustrating!
I want to learn affiliate marketing (was going to choose Wealthy Affiliate, maybe)… but am concerned about how long it’ll actually take to make the first dollar.
Hey Jon… Could you invest in my soul? (don’t laugh…) Point a person in the best “no time for baloney” direction? I don’t want to get overwhelmed again, like I did with another program, just wanna get to work and see results to keep me going. My soul could use a serious pick-me-up along those lines. Surely my purpose in life isn’t to work this hard and see no results… Any words of wisdom on starting?
Hope you don’t mind me asking. Can’t receive if ya don’t ask, right?
oops, sorry Jon on previous long post. Just read info on your contact page. DIdn’t mean to ask for help, so scratch that. Never mind, carry on.
I’ve just gotta figure out how to choose between PPC and WA. If anybody has any tips to offer on making that decision, thanks in advance.
Jonathon, I hope your goal doesn’t not include working with those Christian or other religious charities who only help for the name of their religion for the goal to convert the masses in poor country. I’m sick and tired of seeing these charities conducting projects in the poor region of Indian converting the uneducated.

Being successful is all about trying, failing and adjusting and hopefully you learn from your mistakes to never do it again.
I’ve been at CPA for about six months and have failed miserably but choose to not give up. Each tiny success keeps me going.
I’m finally starting to see some good results here six months later.
CPA is not for the faint hearted, It will chew you up and spit you out if you let it.
Wish everyone great success and NEVER GIVE UP!
~Kevin
Great goal for 2009! Are you selling your own product or a product at all? Or are all $20M “just” from affiliate marketing?
Anyhow — I read your blog on a regular basis and wish you all the best.
Cheers,
Asle in Oslo
Thats really nice and i am one of your readers and to tell you the truth you are an inspiration to me.
dude, you are cool
This is awesome, Jonathan! It sounds as though you are a man who has his priorities straight. I pray God continues to bless you above and beyond what you can ask or think because of your witness and the stands you take with your business.
I love how you just put your goals out there. What a great way to manifest what you want! I’ll be delighted when you reach your dreams this year.

how cool to know someone that thinks like I do
Truly inspirational! Goal setting is something I have never done! Well, I have in the past set goals for exercise and health but never for financial health. I will be writing and setting some goals for my financial freedom as soon as I’m done writing this! Great blog, keep up the good work.
I hope you can become more success and achieve the money goal sooner.
i like to be gist about goal life at any time you fee it in your mind
