Wow, I totally missed this post. Weird how the Obama supporters on this thread are complete jerks and I thought the democrats were supposed to be all-accepting. (snicker). How many times can they call you “stupid” or worse when their comments are baseless themselves.

Twist is I voted for Obama because I felt the Republican party had hijacked my religion for their own personal gain the last 8 years but am personally embarrassed for the comments of the people that disagree with you and hope you don’t come away from that post feeling everyone who voted for Barack is like that.

As the Albuquerque Examiner mentioned yesterday, Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, wants compulsory service imposed on eighteen and twenty-five year old Americans. “They’ll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community,” writes Emanuel in his book, The Plan: Big Ideas for America. “These young people will be available to address their communities’ most pressing needs.”

It’s called the National Service Act and calls for a universal draft with two years of “service” for virtually all persons aged 18-42, with no deferment for college.

It’s astonishing to see how Obama flat out tells people what he’s going to do and they don’t take him at his word.

–He and his wife flat out said you will be “required to serve.” Their exact words.

–He flat out told everybody he was going to create a Civilian Military Force that’s as well funded and equipped as the military.

–Biden said that in 6 months something’s going to happen. And the decision made will make their poll numbers tank and that they’ll require (who they were speaking to) your influence in the communities to do what’s necessary. He was broadcasting this draft, prepping people for it.

You’ve got 6 months people.

Are you dense? That information is direct from them!!! And it’s on the new prez’s website!!! Also … their new guy Rahm Emmanuel actually wrote a book in 2006 titled, “The Plan” where they lay out these mandatory service requirements if you want to check it out. (Amazon) There’s no talk about tax credits – it’s mandatory service to the federal government.

You people over the ages of 25 will be required to work for the government too. Here’s what the prezelect demands:

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.
