Jon, my request is simular to Russells, except I want to get into the game, not as a newbie as such; but with experiance. Hey Jonathan. I gotta say, great site! I just spent a couple of hours reading your whole blog from start to finish (I’m a very slow reader). I’m just getting started in this affiliate marketing thing and your information has cleared some things up for me.
But I do have a kinda newbie question for you (or anyone else reading). I’ve recently applied for some affiliate programs through some of the big affiliate networks. I have registered some domain names and plan on creating landing pages and concentrate mainly on a paid search strategy. However, it seems to me that some of these guys aren’t willing to open up their programs to a relatively new guy like me.
Do most advertisers require that you have a working website with traffic before allowing you in? If so, it would seem to be a catch-22 since landing pages would need an advertiser’s links as the main content…maybe I’m missing something.

No, I’d recommend focusing on learning one method, applying to all 8 recommended affiliate networks (http://www.jonathanvolk.com/recommended-money-makers) and then calling them explaining the method you plan to use.

Hi Jonathan – absolutely awesome Affiliate Marketing guide PDF you have authored and most generously given away as a freebie to new list subscribers – I read every word voraciously and made some notes on notepad and am definitely keen to try my hand in CPA Networks & PPV as I know that is the real deal and where the big bucks lie – also I like the pay-per-lead model from a marketer and profit perspective as its more about delivering the right targetted traffic and getting as many eyeballs t look at asuper optimised landing page fit for the niche of choice
