Hey Jonathan. I gotta say, great site! I just spent a couple of hours reading your whole blog from start to finish (I’m a very slow reader). I’m just getting started in this affiliate marketing thing and your information has cleared some things up for me.
But I do have a kinda newbie question for you (or anyone else reading). I’ve recently applied for some affiliate programs through some of the big affiliate networks. I have registered some domain names and plan on creating landing pages and concentrate mainly on a paid search strategy. However, it seems to me that some of these guys aren’t willing to open up their programs to a relatively new guy like me.
Do most advertisers require that you have a working website with traffic before allowing you in? If so, it would seem to be a catch-22 since landing pages would need an advertiser’s links as the main content…maybe I’m missing something.
