The call to action (CTA) is the most important part of a website. It’s what turns visitors into cash. So, before you write the copy for your next so-so CTA, take a look at these 9 tips. Take advantage of them and you’ll be increasing conversions in no time at all.

1. Use active words.
You see active words all the time. Think of all the action words you see in ads: buy, subscribe, download, register, call, etc. Why are they there? Because they inspire people to act, just as their name suggests.

2. Keep it short.
Notice that all of my tips here are short. They are to the point and do not have any unnecessary words. Use this philosophy in all of your calls to action. If you want to capture attention, don’t write a novel.

3. Use simple words.
Resist the urge to use complex words and sentence structures. If there is a smaller, more simple word to use, use it. The average person doesn’t read at a high level. Simple words have high conversion rates.

4. Convey urgency.
Don’t put off until tomorrow what you could do today, right? Wrong. Everyone puts things off until tomorrow. Your job is to ensure that your call to action isn’t one of them. Convey “now or never”!

5. Use buzzwords.
They might sound cheap and overused, but they work. Think of all the buzzwords you read each day: unique, innovative, award winning, exclusive, solution, leading, etc. Don’t count them out.

6. Avoid spam signals.
There’s a thin line that you need to learn to toe. Avoid any language or punctuation that will send up red spam flags. For example, avoid the use of “!!!” or “!?!”

7. Use numbers.
It seems like everyone is creating lists these days, right? Right. That’s because lists involve numbers, which are more appealing to the human eye than words. Notice the number in the title of this post.

8. Advertise the value.
You can sell anything to anyone when you know this trick: promote the value. It sounds simple, but it’s overlooked. Put yourself in their shoes and focus on what’s in it for them. Show them the value right away!

9. Be specific.
Did you know that you miss out on leads because your CTA isn’t specific enough? They want to know exactly what is going to happen when they click through. Explain the specifics of what you want them to do and what will happen after.

Are you already using some of these tips? Which tips have worked best for you?

If you’re reading this, then you’re interested in making money online. Great! So, you have something in common with the 500,000+ users on Flixya. Flixya pays users to share videos, photos and articles! Sounds pretty cool, right? That’s why it has been getting quite a bit of attention lately.

How does it work? They leverage the AdSense API and split 100% of the revenue with content creators. In fact, they are the first company to do what they’re doing.

“We believe that the true value of social networking is the community, and we continue to strive to promote member ownership with our platform.”

Here are the three best things about Flixya!

1. 100% Revenue Split

Flixya is officially the first social networking platform to pay users 100% of the ad revenues from user-generated content. In the original version, the split was 50/50, but they’ve taken it up a notch (or two ).

“With the AdSense API, we have a solution that fully enables the business model we’ve long dreamed of. Very few companies online or offline can state that they are giving back 100 percent of the revenue their members earn and still remain profitable.”

So, when you create great content, you will grab plenty of traffic. When those leads click the AdSense ads on Flixya, you get 100% of the revenue. The real benefit here is that all you have to do to make money online is create and share awesome photos, articles, or videos.

This isn’t chump change either. Users have reported earning enough from Flixya to quit their 9 to 5.

2. No Landing Page Required

Possibly the biggest benefit of using Flixya to make money online is that it’s easy. Compare it to affiliate marketing. You need to do keyword research, compile a list of keywords, add them to AdWords, create a landing page, optimize the landing page, etc. There are so many steps involved with affiliate marketing.

With Flixya, all you have to do is create content you think visitors will like (this gets easier with time), upload it and then wait for the money to roll in. It saves you the trouble of creating your own website, managing your own AdSense account, etc.

3. It’s Fun

Duh! How often have you visited websites like Funny or Die and thought about how sweet it would be to work there? Flixya is a general interest website, which means you can share anything and everything. In what world is that not a fun way to make money?

“Flixya is not all about making money. Often times, our members find that sharing content is an enjoyable activity, above and beyond the added benefit of earning an income online.”

Have you tried Flixya or read about it in the news? What do you think of the way they’re using the AdSense API?

Brian LaFrance is a developer, marketer, and all-around geek who has been in various aspects of affiliate marketing since 2001. He got his start in online marketing working for an online pharmacy and has been focused mostly on SEO and development for the past few years.

Tell us a little background info about yourself. Where are you from? How old are you? How long have you been making money online?
I grew up in Idaho but have lived in Arizona for the past 20 years. I’m 31 now. My first experience with making money from the internet was back in 1999 when I set up a website for a swimming pool company I was doing sales for. We almost immediately started getting leads and it worked out pretty well. I was working that job to put myself through college. Up to that point, my goal was to do 3D animation for movies or video games. After seeing the business that could be generated through a website, I changed courses and started learning about building websites and taking software engineering classes.

Do you have any experience with affiliate marketing? If so, to what extent?
During my last semester of college, I sold and built a pool for a guy that was running an online pharmacy. He ended up hiring me to do some web design but we soon decided that I wasn’t cut out to be a designer and was much better suited to write code. Within a couple months, I was the lead developer and the development staff that was there before me was let go. My main task at that point was to create an affiliate program and build the software. This was back in 2001 and things like DirectTrack had just started showing up on the scene. I think that building the software was probably one of the best learning experiences I’ve had as far as doing affiliate marketing.

After a year of building the affiliate software, a pharmacy ordering system, and various other little projects, I was pretty much replaced with a boxed piece of software and went back to building swimming pools while I figured out what I would do next. A few months later, I built a pool for a guy (now one of my best friends) who had several sites but knew nothing about monetizing them. He had a few CJ ads on the sites but they were only making a couple hundred a month. He offered to let me take the sites over and we’d split the revenue. After a month, the main site was making around $4,000/month and everything was looking good.

From there, it’s just been a continuous cycle of doing various affiliate sites in several different markets, depending on how the economy is. I’ve worked on finance, legal, and travel sites mostly.

What accomplishments so far are you the most proud of?
Last year, I was able to sell one off one of my affiliate sites for a pretty large chunk of cash. I used the money to pay off some debts and still have a couple years of cash in reserves. It’s really a pretty amazing feeling to put a lot of time into something that makes decent cash (enough to live off of) and then have multiple people approach you to buy it, offering as much money as you’ve made the rest of your life combined .

How did you become successful? Why did you choose this career? When did you first realize the full potential in the Internet? When did you first “hit the big time?”
I don’t think I could honestly consider myself successful until last year. Even then, my opinion of success is kind of a moving target. At this point, if I could own a bait shop next to a river, run a fishing website, and live quietly, I’d be psyched and would consider that a success. For now, I’ll take little wins like selling that site last year.

I kind of stumbled into this career. I think I finally decided to stick with it in 2004 or so. It’s been a fun but scary ride at times. I don’t think I’d trade the experience for anything, but I don’t know that it’s a permanent lifestyle for me. Sitting at a desk all day, every day isn’t really my preference.

What do you think it takes to be successful?
I really think that success is a result of luck. I know people who are awesome at what they do, work their butt off, do everything right, but still fail. For me, I’ve just been in the right place at the right time for most of my life. I’ve never had a job interview. I think that’s just being lucky.

What have been your biggest failures and frustrations?
I had a site that was making $8k a month get whacked by Google and drop to almost nothing during an update in 2005 and got lazy about looking into the penalty. If I had paid enough attention to the site and not neglected it, I could have turned that around fairly quick.

What is the single toughest problem you’ve had to face, and how did you get through it?
The toughest problem I’ve faced is scaling what I’m doing. I have a hard time trusting anyone to do work for me and have spent way more time than I should have doing my own designs, code, and everything. Looking back on it, I know I could have done better and would be more successful if I had learned earlier on to outsource some of my projects. It’s better for something to be out there only partially complete versus not out there at all. Over the past year I’ve started outsourcing quite a bit more and using people on oDesk to do quick tasks that add up to a lot of wasted time if I do them.

Is there anything that you don’t like to do, that you just hate working on?
There’s not much that I hate doing. It really comes down to what needs to be done within the amount of time I have. If something monotonous has to be done and I don’t have time for it, I hate that.

What is the future of marketing?
Honestly, I’m not sure. My best guess is that unfortunately, governments will play a much bigger part in marketing and what can be done from a marketing perspective. We’re seeing state level governments working to figure out collecting taxes on internet transactions (killing some affiliate marketing in those states) and national government dictating disclosure. Dealing with those issues is going to change the landscape as far as budgets, who can play in certain markets, and how much time people are willing to invest in playing by the rules. Rather than becoming more informed on products and making better decisions when they buy, more and more consumers will become informed on how they can buy without having to take responsibility for their purchase. It’s sad but we’ll have to adapt to that kind of mentality and cover our butts on whatever is being promoted.

What have you been up to recently? What projects are you working on?
Recently I’ve been in charge of marketing at AuthorityLabs, working on various WordPress projects, and building out some new sites to replace the revenue from what I sold last year. We have some pretty cool things coming up at AuthorityLabs and it has been a pretty fun ride over the past couple months.

What problems have you had with those new projects?
The main problems I’ve had lately is getting reliable help to keep them moving. I had a couple good people on oDesk that ended up with full-time gigs of their own that are taking up all their time now. My own stuff has ended up being neglected as a result of that.

Do you think anything particular in your past prepared you for this industry? Your education? Jobs you’ve held before?
My dad was always trying to start new companies when I was a kid, so I grew up around that kind of mentality. We were pretty much homeless for a few months and survived that. Losing everything doesn’t really scare me, but I also don’t want to have that happen to my wife and daughters. That motivates me to do whatever it takes to make things happen.

What are your greatest strengths?
My greatest strength is that I usually figure out a way to make things happen regardless of how many obstacles. It actually drives my wife nuts because she knows that if I want something bad enough, I’ll figure out how to get it, regardless of how much of a hassle it is. I see it as a game and I always want to win. I don’t see any reason to play if I can’t win.

What are your greatest weaknesses?
My greatest weakness is that I’m the slowest reader I know. I hate reading. I don’t even remember the last fiction book I read. If I spend time reading, it’s to learn more about something I want to do. It’s probably not good and I wish I could kick back and enjoy a book, but there’s only so much time out there to do what needs to be done.

What motivates you?
My wife and daughters motivate me. I started dating my wife when I was 14 and I was 18 when we got married. She’s pretty awesome to have put up with me for so long. Most people figured we wouldn’t last long. My dad even tried to bribe me to not get married. My two daughters are amazing little girls. I want them to be able to do whatever they want when they grow up and that’s a huge motivation to me.

What is the best advice you’ve been given and try to apply to your life?
My dad taught me to do things for people and not keep “score” or ask for anything in return. I think this has worked out well and I really enjoy just randomly doing things for friends and seeing them happy as a result of that.

Who has impacted you most in your career, and how?
The guy I was working for when I was selling and building swimming pools probably had the most impact. I was fresh out of high school, knew almost nothing about working in the real world, and didn’t really understand money or business very well. Between the various lessons he taught me about business and the responsibilities he trusted me with (construction superintendent at 19 years old) gave me a lot of confidence that I didn’t have before. I’m pretty sure that if I didn’t take that job, I’d be sitting in a cubicle somewhere doing accounting.

What kinds of people do you have difficulties working with? Any good stories?
I don’t work well with people who can’t figure something out on their own. I’ve had situations where people will ask me a question that would have been just as easy for them to look up themselves and I have to try hard not to call them a lazy idiot. I have very little patience for that.

What are some of your long-term goals? How much is enough? If money was no object, what would you be doing?
My long term goal really is to own a small business that isn’t necessarily reliant on the internet. Something like a bait shop near a river or lake would be awesome. Someday maybe I’ll have a barbecue restaurant. Maybe both. I wouldn’t be doing it to get rich. I just want to do something that I really enjoy that can help other people enjoy life.

Where do you want to be ten years from now?
10 years from now I want to be in a position to be doing whatever I want, whenever I want. That doesn’t mean I want to be rich. I just want to make my own rules.

How do you like to spend your free time? What doe work-life balance mean to you?
I spend my free time doing barbecue, hanging out with my family, going on road trips, and just trying to explore Arizona. I love being outside and learning about history, so I try to do as much of that locally as possible. The past year or two, I haven’t had as much chance as I used to but I’m working on that. I really believe in work hard/play hard, but lately it’s been a lot of work hard and not as much play hard.

If you could go back to being 18, what different career choices would you make?
I probably would have started running some Viagra sites while it wasn’t so competitive and would have built up a big portfolio of domains and sites early on. That would have been 1998 and probably about the perfect time to start that kind of thing.

What is your greatest achievement outside of work? What are some of your unfulfilled dreams?
Staying married for over 12 years now. It hasn’t been easy but it has been amazing and these days, that’s a long time. As far as unfulfilled dreams, I want to do a cross country road trip and hit all of the lower 48 states. My dad did that on a motorcycle when he was young and it has always been something that sounds fun and would really be amazing. We live in a diverse country when it comes to geography and culture but most people never really get out of their local area or a few areas they commonly visit.

In
The Basics of Writing for the Web you learned these key points:

	Writing for the web is

All of
these points speak to your desire to generate a lead, sale, e-mail sign up, or
other desired action. At the same
time, these points address one predominant message: the manner in which you
address your users is the key in delivering your message.

Then,
in Headline Techniques you learned a few more important points:

	Your headline is tasked

	<![endif]>

	Headlines are most

	<![endif]>

	Creating interest,

	<![endif]>

	Effective headlines use
approachable language and focus on the solution your user is seeking.

Again,
these points (while individually important) relate to the same overall message:
the manner in which you address your users is the key in delivering your
message.

In this
section you are going to learn the fundamentals in how to approach your users on
the terms that they respond the most favourably to.
These fundamentals are culturally universal: whether someone is from
Canada, the United States of America, China, or anywhere else in the world, they
respond universally to emotional messaging.

If
there is one thing that you take from this post, above all else, let it be this:

	People are universal in

	Speak to them on those
terms and you will other see a level of compliance far beyond what you could

Shanelle is a full-time university student and a part-time freelance copywriter. She has over three years of experience working on various projects for me.

As an affiliate marketer, you know how competitive markets can be. Whatever market you’re in, there are at least a dozen other affiliates looking to promote the same product or service. The affiliate marketing industry is growing, which means you need to find a way to stand out from the crowd.

The best way to differentiate yourself from the competition? Content. Would you rather read the blog of a well-known, successful marketer or the blog of a person who just heard about affiliate marketing yesterday? Chances are you would rather read the blog of a well-known, successful marketer. Why? Content. If you don’t already, now is the time to start putting an emphasis on the content of your websites, articles, etc.

Before you jump on the bandwagon, note that there have been some changes in the way copywriting works. Below, I’ve listed four new rules for copywriting! Check them out and consider how you can apply them to your current and future projects.

1. It’s not what you say; it’s how you say it.
Typically, there are hundreds of people sending the same message as you are. On average, what you’re saying isn’t unique. The way to stand out is in how you are sending the message to potential customers. Being able to shift your focus from the “what” to the “how” can be difficult. A great example of focusing on the “how” is personalizing the copy. This can have a huge impact! Use your knowledge of the target audience to personalize the content. Find a way to connect with your audience, a way to relate your copy to their personal lives. A great place to start? Use words like “you” and “your” to make the reader think the copy was written for them personally.

2. Don’t talk at people; talk to them.
The first rule goes hand-in-hand with the second. Go a step further and interact with your audience. Asking questions is a great idea. No, you can’t expect a traditional answer, but you can definitely expect a response. Asking a question means the potential customer will likely stop to think of an answer. This means your copy isn’t just being read, it’s invoking emotions and critical thinking. For example, say I am trying to promote a dating service. In my copy, I would ask a question: “Are you tired of searching for Mr. Right?”

3. Find a question and answer it.
Asking your own questions is important, but so is answering other people’s questions. Everyone has heard the phrase “find a need and fill it”. I think “find a question and answer it” is just as important in affiliate marketing. People use the Internet because they can find instant results. A large portion of the people using search engines are looking for answers. If you can supply answers, you can grab a ton of traffic. A great way to use this information is to add an “Articles” page to your website. Continuing with my dating service example, I would have an “Articles” page where I frequently posted dating tips, relationship tips, relevant study results and the like. Customers will stumble upon your website looking for an answer and find a relevant product you know they’re interested in.

4. If you’re not an English major, hire one.
You wouldn’t design your own website with the pencil tool in MS Paint. You wouldn’t code your own website if you didn’t know what PHP was. We’ve established that content is more important than ever, so why write your own copy if you’re not a great writer? Outsource your copywriting work to a college or university student if you are not good with words. In today’s economy, there is no shortage of qualified writers looking to build their portfolios. The best thing about students is that they are continuously learning, self-motivated and relatively inexpensive to hire.

Have you already started implementing some of these ideas? Have they worked for you? Add your response below!

This is a guest post by Martin Osborn of Finch Sells.

I’ve always believed that you should never judge an Internet Marketer by his Plan A, when the Plan B reveals so much more about his long term business goals. Not to mention whether he’s likely to be banished back to the day job before 2012.

How do you judge your successful months?

I know that variety is the spice of life, but my monthly ROI once read like a bouncy castle of sorrow and joy. Some months left me swelling with accomplished pride. While others made me wince at the thought of busking for a living if the spiral were to continue.

I often wanted to smack myself in the face during my “good months”. I would find myself guilty as sin for gorging through enough spare cash to feed a starving African nation, while lazily unwinding with the knowledge that my Facebook campaigns would last six months longer than they ever did.

Welcome to my past life as a CPA marketer. A story of day-to-day luxury built on such wafer thin foundations, I’d often wake up praying for the survival of the Internet itself.

Okay, now that’s a slight exaggeration. But for the longest time, despite enjoying a life many would bite your hand off for, I’ve suffered from a heightened sense of “what if my business were to disappear overnight” syndrome. I guess to my regular readers, this is already a beaten horse and you’re probably sick to death of hearing my worst case scenario scaremongering.

But in my opinion, being aware of the fickle nature of your Internet fortune, is the only way you’ll ever sustain one over time.

What if your business IS about to change overnight?

I’m willing to bet that for whatever income you reel in from the wide lake of Internet Marketing, there are a dozen different scenarios that could sink your earnings overnight. We’re not dealing in brick and mortar businesses, so we have to nail down every last asset we have. Not just for the maximum profit, but for survival over time.

Online business is changing at such a rapid rate of notts that it’s easy to get your panties in a twist. We can end up completely disorientated by what we’re trying to achieve, profiting from the same fishing spot until it runs dry and we have nothing.

I’m sure many of you read a wide collection of blogs written by various entrepreneurs at differing points on the arcs of their own business growth. You should never judge these entrepreneurs, or what they teach, by the money they’ve accumulated with their Plan A. You don’t know if they’ve been fishing in the same spot like greedy little opportunists, or whether they have a lasting vision of where their business is going.

Just seven seconds ago, I think I come up with a great Plan A too.

You know what would make a lot of money in a short space of time? I’m going to rob a bank.

Robbing a bank has to be the single greatest Plan A in the history of business. If you’re lucky, you’ll get away with it and live a fortuitous life. If you’re unlucky, you won’t. It tells a sorry tale that many Internet Marketers can be grouped in this same category of risk-taking.

Does your whiteboard read like this?

Plan A: Take over the world.

Plan B: I dunno, work my way up the ladder in Burger King, I guess.

This is where so many Internet Marketers get it wrong. Especially those of us working in the CPA industry, which can resemble a goldrush at the best of times, and a confusing collaboration of the Internet’s biggest arseholes when it starts to go wrong.

I’ve made hundreds of thousands of dollars with CPA marketing, and you know what? It wasn’t until I got smart that those payments would become anything more than Monopoly money. What you earned yesterday is the single WORST way to value your business. If you’re not reinvesting in to the growth and development of your Plan B, you’re making a terrible mistake.

It’s perfectly okay to aim for the sky with your Plan A. To develop short-term PPC campaigns that subsidize your life of luxury for the foreseeable future. But you absolutely cannot forget to work on your Plan B. Because nine times out of ten, this is the hard graft that will be paying dividends several years from now.

As a changed marketer who got burnt too many times in the past, I now measure my monthly returns on two very different scales.

I have my Plan A. The PPC campaigns and delicate balancing act of arbitrage marketing. It’s nice to see thousand of dollars in your account as a result of this work. But if you’re dealing in the fluctuations of CPM or CPC, you have to understand that your last month is no fair prediction of your next.

And then I have my Plan B. This is the development and growth of my long term assets. The websites and smaller parts of my business that I can trust to be stable in the long term.

With every month, I aim to close that gap and ensure that my Plan B continues to produce the residual income that helps me sleep at night knowing Plan A can fail and I’ll still be able to enjoy my comfortable life as I know it.

Of course, it’s easy to overlook that many Internet Marketers have yet to succeed with a Plan A. But if that’s you, ask yourself if it’s because you’re too busy stargazing at what it would be like to get rich quick with one lucky break? Every minute spent fantasizing over your “breakthrough campaign” is one minute wasted that could have been used to build a sustainable business.

My advice, to all marketers, would be to have one big project. One campaign or website that you truly believe in and that you can keep pouring energy in to day after day. But you should also have a Plan B. If your profitable campaigns were to turn to dust, or a website were to crash and burn overnight, have you diversified enough to survive the blow?

Even the most experienced affiliate marketers on the planet are only as successful as their last campaigns. It’s important to become more than a one trick pony if you want to stay in the game.

This is a guest post by Tim Grayling.

In today’s world, online businesses have taken the Internet by storm. Companies all over the world are well aware of the benefits of bringing their business online to pull in e-commerce, which often times means more success. Bringing a business online or even running your entire business online has an array of benefits, though it will require a lot of time and effort on your end to jumpstart your online business. What good is your business if no one knows about it?

When it comes to online businesses, the competition is even higher. Not only do you have competition with those offering similar products and services, but also competition to make it into search engine rankings. Unless a customer is already aware of your business, you’ll need to use various internet marketing methods to spread your name around. Consider the following tips to help jumpstart your online business to a path of success:

1. Personal loans – Most online businesses start off small. If this is the case for you, applying for a personal loan is a great alternative, especially if you are unable to take out a home equity loan or a business loan. With a personal loan you’ll need to note what the funds are being used for, and in this case you’d state for a start-up business. With this personal loan approved for business use, you’ll have access to money needed to jumpstart your online business.

2. Internet Marketing – The fastest way to jumpstart your online business is through internet marketing. Without it, no one will know who you are or anything about the products and services you provide. The purpose of internet marketing is to have your business seen, especially when it comes to search engine results. Using methods such as SEO, link building, affiliates and others will allow your company to gain visibility. The more people that know of your business, the higher chance you have of earning a sale.

3. Be aware of your competition – The idea behind all businesses, whether brick and mortar or online, is to surpass any competition that may exist. Online, the competition you have will depend on various things from customer service to the quality and reputation of your product. Before launching your online business full force, it’s helpful to know what exactly you’re facing. Once you’re aware of what you’re up against, you can work to make your business better. Maybe improve your product or offer customer incentives such as coupons and freebies.

4. Update and/or change your business website – Online, the only thing customers have to go off to rate your business is the website you offer them. Websites should be well planned and easy to navigate. Customers don’t want a website that isn’t user-friendly. Make sure that your website content is well written and ensure you have the proper hardware means to allow for smooth online browsing and buying.

5. Social networking – When you think of the Internet you probably think of social networking. Social networking is a great way to network your business and spread the word around. Add features such as RSS feed and digg to your website. Make a Facebook page or even Twitter for your website. Both of these social networks will allow you much more visibility. It’s also a great way to keep in touch with customers so that you can continue to expand your leads.

Remember, before you can jump-start your online business, you’ll first need the funds to do so. Once you have the personal loan you need, you can then focus on other factors of your business such as advertising, website layout and content, as well as how you plan to market your product and/or service.

This is a guest post by Craig Michaels, who I ran an interview with back in June. Have you been looking for a way to make money using PLR content? Have you tried using many [...]

This is a guest post by Craig Michaels, who I ran an interview with back in June.

Have you been looking for a way to make money using PLR content? Have you tried using many PLR products but it seems as if they are all a bunch of trash? Have you spent you hard earned money on some supposed-to-be PLR content only to discover that you are totally restricted from using it the way you thought a PLR product should be used? Never mind, you are about to learn how you can make maximum use of your PLR content and make money from it.

In case you are wondering, PLR means Private Label Rights. By extension, a PLR product is a product which you have the rights to edit partially or completely and put your name on it. That is, a product that you can re-brand as your own. A PLR content could be an ebook, article, short report, software, audio or video. You can also remove the links, especially the affiliate links, and put yours. How can you make money using PLR content?

First of all, you have to understand that PLR content is one of the easiest products you can use to make money on the internet considering the fact that someone else has taken his or her time, energy and resources to create the product for you to simply use to make money. So, what you have to do is to take it from wherever you stored it on your computer, tweak it a bit by adding a few lines or changing a few words, especially if the PLR product is an ebook, article or short report. It might interest you to know that you are not allowed to sell or use a PLR product without adding or removing some stuffs from it. Why is it so?

This is because you are not the original owner of the content. You can’t submit a PLR article to an article directory unless you are looking for trouble. In fact, some article directories like ezinearticles.com will flag your PLR articles as problem articles immediately you submit them. Then, they could go as far as suspending your account if you continue to resubmit them after several rejections. Ezinearticles.com doesn’t even allow your links in your author resource box to be pointing to a PLR site. So, if you are thinking of making quick money as an affiliate or article marketer by just submitting PLR articles to article directories like ezinearticles.com, you just have to forget about such an idea because it won’t work.

Then, how can you make money using PLR content if you are not allowed to sell it without editing it? Okay, pay attention to this. One of the ways you can make money using PLR is by adding it to your membership site. So, what happens is that when any visitor to your site signs up to become an active member by paying certain subscription fees monthly, annually, or once-in-a-lifetime, he or she becomes entitled to the PLR products. This is one of the reasons why you should make sure that your PLR products are not just mere rehashed fluff scattered all over the world wide web.

You have to make sure that the PLR content you have at your disposal is of top quality which will attract more visitors to your membership site and compel them to sign up even before they would really think about it. After all, everybody is a friend to quality content. You also have to make sure that the PLR product is relatively cheap and cost-effective unless the cost of getting the PLR is accommodated in the membership fees. You know quite well that the value of money is what money can buy. So, if your membership site subscribers cannot afford to buy the PLR product you are offering, it means that your business strategy is defeated. In addition, you have to add fresh PLR products to your membership site regularly, at least monthly.

Another way of making money using PLR product is by setting up a PLR niche blog or site where visitors to your site just come to pay and download as many PLR articles, short reports or ebooks as they need, without any formal registration or membership subscription. All you have to do in this case is to find ways to drive targeted traffic to the site and you will make sales. The site could be a webpage with download links of the PLR articles, short reports, ebooks, videos, audios and so on. You can also make a squeeze page which will have an opt-in form so that you can build a list. Why do you need to build a list? The money you want to make is in the list. The money that will sustain you and your business is in the list of buyers, potential buyers or repeated buyers unless you don’t want a real business. The list helps you to know who is buying, what he is buying, where he is from, so that you can actually know the kind of products you should place on your site subsequently and regularly in order to make more sales and money. Most PLR products go for between $5 and $30 depending on the length (word or page count), the niche topic and quality of the content. So, if you want to make more money using PLR, you have to look for and upload to your blog or site those products that have more content, in a hot niche and offer greater value than relatively cheap ones in the same niche.

Still looking for a way to make money using PLR? You can rewrite your PLR ebook, short report or article and then use the power of social networking sites to sell it to your friends on facebook.com or your followers on twitter.com. All you have to do is to change the original creator’s links to your own links, particularly your affiliate links in case you have other products you are promoting which are related to the PLR product and you know that your friends or followers would be interested in them.

You can also rewrite the PLR products and sell them to your contacts in forums where you are actively participating – that’s talking about the power of forum marketing. You might say that you don’t have contacts in any forum yet because maybe you just joined one. Don’t worry; keep posting valuable comments on the one you belong. After some time, say 2 weeks of active participation and valuable contribution, put a signature file that will appear below each post you make. Make sure that the signature file contains your site links, not your direct affiliate links. You will be surprised that some of the forum members would actually follow the link in your signature file to buy the PLR products on your site. One good thing about forum marketing is that it gives you the opportunity to brand yourself, carve out a niche for yourself, be seen as an expert or authority in a particular field and build a solid reputation which can affect your products positively. One thing you have to always be sure of is the quality of the product because nobody would want to spend his money on what will not add value to him either directly or indirectly.

Are you still asking, “How can I make money using PLR content?” Now, answer this question, “Do you know that an ebook is a careful and proper collection of related articles? Okay, put all the articles in the same niche topic together as one package. Prepare a “Table of Content” for the package. Edit, change or remove some unnecessary parts. Turn the package into a PDF so that it would be attractive and readable. Now, you have just turned PLR articles into a PLR ebook. Guess what? You have increased the value of the PLR content which means that you have more money to make. There is no good quality article that costs more than a good quality ebook.

Alternatively, you can turn the related PLR articles into a short report. All you have to do is just to edit them properly, package them as one content and give the package a good title. You can sell the short report to your membership site members. You can as well sell it to your fellow forum members as a “special offer”. You can also sell it to your list subscribers using an autoresponder.

Another way you can make money from a PLR product is by breaking the PLR ebooks into short reports or articles depending on the length of the ebook. You can offer them as freebies to get visitors to your site to subscribe to your list. Remember, the money you are looking for on the internet is in the list. Those people that received the free articles or short reports are your potential customers. They have received free stuffs today but they would, most probably, buy your products tomorrow because you have just proved to them that you care for them. You have earned their trust by giving them valuable something without asking for a dime.

However, there are millions of PLR content site on the internet that have little or no value to offer. So, it becomes very vital that you should get your PLR products from reliable sites that will always give you pure value for your money. In case you don’t know, almost all free PLR content are only good to be kept in trash can because that is exactly where they belong as a result of the fat that they have no useful information to deliver. Don’t waste your time looking for rehashed and worthless PLR products.
