Skill Is Less Important Than Completion
To me, there is one quality that is hard to find in someone. That is them seeing the project to the very end.
So often I have hired people to do something for me and often they seem so promising. They have talent, drive, skill, etc. The problem comes when the end of the project is in sight.
The little details get left out, skipped over and sometimes completely ignored. At the end of the day, the little details are the things that matter the most (at least to me).
Why is it so hard for so many people to focus to completion? I’m not quite sure, but I have a hard time finishing projects at times as well. Maybe it’s my ADD, maybe it’s because there are so many other projects going on at once…
Knowing this, one of the main things that impresses me when looking for someone to work with is the projects they have completed in the past. Attention to the final details is really important as it’s a rare quality.
Now, back to finish these projects I have started.
