Learn the techniques I used to make over $4,000,000 in affiliate commissions! Check out my Free Affiliate Marketing Guide and learn the "how to" for Facebook Ads, PPC Affiliate Marketing, PPV / CPV Affiliate Marketing, And Media Buying!

Ok, so it's officially tax season and... let's just say tax season is when certain affiliates make MAJOR bank in just a few weeks time. We're talking multi-million dollar type of sales numbers...

I got some info from some inside sources that THIS weekend is going to be one of the largest tax "waves" so to speak. All people looking to get their refund. After this weekend the traffic slowly goes down until the next wave.

So if it were me, I'd make time today to submit those ads and get ready for what could quite possibly be one of the largest days in your affiliate career. :)

That next wave is people who are usually business owners and put it off until the week or so before April 14th.

So there is some great information for you to use to target your Tax campaigns.

Demographics:
To start off, I'd probably target females. Looking at quantcast, there seems to be a slight favor towards females to the tune of about 58% of total site visitors.

I'd also recommend targeting ages 23+ and going from there. You want working professionals and that's probably the best age to start around. I'd go from there up to around age 35... and if you want to target even more up to age 50.

So, if you're looking for a tax campaign, DirectAgents is putting on an awesome contest for those who decide to participate in the tax season craze.

Enter the 24 Hour Tax and Direct Agents High Tech Takeover contest running now through April 15th! First prize winner wins an Apple iPad!

  1. Thanks for the information, i will try to make some sales.

  2. PPC Ian says:

Thanks for highlighting this niche, Jonathan. Seems like a great opportunity to take advantage of seasonality during a time when some of the other verticals within finance start pulling back from January highs.

  3. Chester says:

Man, the prizes are really tempting huhh! I want that iPad!

  4. Earn Online says:

This is a good time to implement the method you have outlined and make some money. Looks like a good contest too.

  5. Posts like these are really useful since they show new affiliates what kind of niches are available and profitable and how to think like an affiliate.
I don’t care about that iPad though ;)

  6. Sounds good but I’m not really feeling the iPad too much lol

And DA definitely holds some good contests! :)

    Jay

  7. Paul says:

    Are you entering the contest?

  8. Personally I usually avoid this extremely seasonal niches. I always thought it was too much effort to set everything for a niche that only lasts a couple months a year. If affiliates are really making that kind of money, perhaps I should reconsider. The problem is that I rely on SEO instead of PPC. So any campaign I run is more of a long term project.

  9. Togrul says:

I’ve been planning to buy an eBook reader for a long time and when I saw the release of iPad I thought it might be the one for me.
So, let’s give it a go and who knows maybe I’ll be lucky

  10. Nope i will not be entering the contest . That’s just not for me, i don’t have that kinda time,

  11. used tires says:

I’m too busy with Turbo Tax at the moment, haha. So the contest will have to wait for some other time. :-)

    Till then,

    Jean

  12. Like Aluminum Cases, I also don’t really like seasonal niches. Maybe it can work if you have other blogs that is not seasonal but even if that’s the case I still opt for the not seasonal niche.

  13. Richard says:

I’m nowhere near intermediate yet but yesterday I was thinking about this and started my research on it. I might give it a go for learning purpose of course…

  14. Ah, taxes.

I ended up paying $2,000 this year. Which was better than last year of $5,000.

My accountant did some nifty tricks :)

  15. St Valentines Day is coming nup, and Easter after that. I use popular holidays like these to base forecasts on too.

  16. Paul says:

any tips of where you might advertise these offers?

  17. I never thought of this , maybe this is what seperates affiliates from super affiliates =]

  18. Experimental says:

During “tax season”, which ends on April 15, 2008 when federal individual income tax returns are due, taxpayers prepare and file their federal, and if required, their state income tax returns.

  19. Experimental says:

It doesn’t seem right that the govt can change tax laws several times during tax season. Other than “because they are the govt,” how come they can tamper with tax laws during tax season.

  20. I needed some explanation on this tax season and i got it from here. Thanks for the post.
