Stuck in a Rut?

Are you stuck in a rut in affiliate marketing? I hear this time and time again from people and the truth is, everybody has those down times.

Really, not everything is going to work for you. If it did, everyone would be making money as an affiliate.

Here are some things I generally do when I’m stuck in a rut.

  • First, I generally pause the campaign. Take a break from working on it. If I can’t get it profitable or am having issues with it, I pause and move on for a while. It’ll still be there when I get back to it. There are so many profitable niches / offers. If you’re having issues with one, try your hand at another.
  • The next thing I do is I generally talk to my affiliate manager and ask how other search affiliates are doing as far as EPC goes. Again, I need to know how I am doing vs. other affiliates. This gives you a goal to shoot for and helps you to better pin down what may be wrong with your process. Obviously something has to be wrong if they have a dramatically higher EPC.
  • After I’m ready to start working on the campaign again, I often will just test the same offer on another network (if it’s there – check out offervault.com or affspy.com to see which networks have what offer). Sometimes you’ll find that the tracking pixel on a particular network is not firing as well as another. (A.K.A Some networks skim leads more than others). The networks I have had the best luck with are: AzoogleAds, Incentaclick, And PepperjamNetwork
  • Lastly, if I’m just plain stuck and I can’t get the offer to work, I simply move on. Don’t think you’re going to win at everything because it’s simply not smart to use your time in that way.
  • Remember, everyone gets stuck in a rut sometimes. Press through and you’ll get through it.
