Your blog has really gone down hill, I’m sorry to say. It’s the middle of the night for me and I know there are ridiculous infomercials on TV, but I didn’t know I would find one here.

As lame as this is, I listened to most of it. This guy starts talking about how great cpm advertising is and calls it “pay per view” (PPV) which sounds like it’s for marketing purposes only. Then he tries to justify adware and starts splitting hairs about how it’s completely different from spyware.

There is a ton of other crap on this podcast too. Do I get a bottle of free diet pills when I sign up for PPC coach?

Tell this guy to please stop saying pay per view!!! WTF?

Honestly this podcast is a travesty designed to sell to people who don’t know crap about marketing.

Do you know who your audience is, Volk?

  2. Jeremy Ross says:

I couldn’t agree more with Marc. As an experienced PPC Marketer, I decided to sign up for the PPC-Coach website to see what the buzz was about. From the information I saw on the website I was VERY disappointed. He doesn’t teach you how to market products via PPC, but instead teaches you how to incentivize email and zip submit offers which create very POOR leads for advertisers.

Show any affiliate network the strategy he is teaching and they will say that is not acceptable at all. Go to an entertainment or sports website that carries Adsense ads and I guarantee you will run across a website promoting offers this way (notice the similar templates).

In his defense, as I’ve been a member for two months now, he does provide access to new programs each month, but he still doesn’t give much insight on how to use AdWords Search. He also has a few tools that aren’t bad, but as a whole it’s not something I would recommend.

Volk, you are an experienced marketer yourself, do you really condone the methods he teaches?

  3. Mary Green says:

Hey Jon & Marc, I just listened to this whole thing yesterday and it was really good. It was an hour long, or 55 minutes, but I got a lot out of it. Btw marc, ppv is pay per view, not cpm. Maybe you should listen, there is a huge difference.

  4. Wes Mahler says:

Hey Marc, hopefully you’ve found some good information though over the times you’ve read JV’s blog. I have to say it is quite difficult to keep coming up with new content all the time, as there are only so many tips and tricks each marketer knows.

  5. WayneDog says:

Seriously, Marc if you are going to rip the guy at least know the difference between CPM and PPV first.

  6. Marc says:

OK I admit I’m an ignorant guy. Someone please explain to me in meaningful terms how PPV is different from cpm and show me a network I can buy PPV advertising on that is in some way different from cpm.

  7. Isn’t that what the video is for? Are you… wow.

  8. Brandon says:

The information that PPC Coach and nearly everyone else gives about PPV is very dangerous to your wallet. Anyone expecting to make money with his PPV strategies are in for a rude awakening.

I’d love to hear from someone who makes any amount of money from his PPV strategies.

  9. Ryan Gray says:

I’ve heard really good things about ppc coach :)

  10. perdere peso says:

    Marc,

PPV simply means you pay everytime your ads are viewed.

CPM means you pay a pre-negotiated price everytime your ad is shown 1000 times.

watch the video once again carefully and you get it.
