There are certain times in affiliate marketing or internet marketing in general when getting someone a result may take a bit of time.
An example of this might be if you were running a search engine style landing page which matched your visitor to the best service.
This type of landing page is a bit more uncommon but can work in certain instances.
Either way, if you ever have something that takes more than just a few seconds to get to, you want to let your visitors know!
Statistics show that most people hate waiting for a page to load. In fact if your page takes more than just 10 seconds or so, forget about converting a large number of visitors!
What I have found is that people actually don't mind waiting as much as you might think. Instead they often think of the wait period as a glitch or error.
So therefore when you send people to a page that might take a minute or two to load, always tell them of the pending wait time.
Further more, because people are so used to PC's and Mac's which both fully utilize animation, most people will feel more comfortable waiting if you have some type of progress bar. This progress bar does not need to be real (think of the ajax loading bars), it just needs to simulate a real situation.
If you want to get some really good ajax loading bars, you can check out this website I found on the good old google.

Good tip with the loading animation, it can give off the impression of something worthwhile, maybe throw up the ajax load image and put a 10 second delay on a redirect or something. I think a minute of two is a little much but 10 seconds should do it (test different times of course), I think if they waited for those 10 seconds their more likely to read it becaus they already put in some time, bounce rate might just go down.
BTW you should add the “Email this” link to your Feedburner links, I usually email myself posts I liked to remind myself later about them. Just a thought.
I had to add an ajax loader graphic just recently… found the same website. Guess the World Wide Web is a small place after all. =)
