If you read any of the big "make money online" bloggers websites, you'll realize market leverage is really working hard to get some attention in the industry. You can see posts from big names all over just because they got a care package that probably cost the company a few hundred. Many guys made multiple posts...

So all of that to say, here is my "care package" post. :)

Just this weekend I received a package in the mail from them. At first I thought it was a hard drive I had ordered from tigerdirect but once I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised.

market leverage

So I got a nice 2gb Flash drive / Pen, a ML hat, a ML golf shirt (XL hahaha), and my personal favorite a ML shirt that says, "I'm blogging this."

So with all the great gifts I decided to write a post about some of the advantages I can see to using ML.

The first obvious one is the rewards program. It's like an instant 1% back rewards program. Get an Amex Plum card, get 2% cash back. Put that in yahoo search marketing and get another 5% cash back. Put your traffic to Market Leverage and get another 1%! :) That'll increase your profit margins! Hahaha.

Compared to all the other affiliate rewards programs, 1% back is the highest I have ever seen. :)

The other really great thing about Market leverage is that you can actually get 5% referral commissions! That's the highest that referral commissions come!

All that to say, Market Leverage is quickly putting themselves as the industry leaders due to creative marketing strategies. Kudos to those who thought of the idea.

Its interesting that you’d write a post about this.

From the picture all I see are ML branded items and the flash drive which can be bought for 20 bucks or so.
Are you really going to wear these?

I see affiliate marketing as much more than just forced - coerced - make money fast schemes. I see it as true marketing in something you believe in.

In your post the good things you say about ML sound forced or bought with the care package they sent you.
Is there something you can market that you really believe in?

Jim Kukral may have a special deal with Flip - but he sounds convincing enough that I’ve bought into the idea that he really loves the camera. I have a sony handycam and can’t get the thing to allow me to use the videos in Windows movie maker - because of that and Jim’s vlogs I am nearly convinced I need one though the Handycam is clearly better - though not easy to use in the way I want to.

Hope this makes sense - why are we marketing things that are forced on us and we don’t really believe in?

Mark

While I understand your opinions, nothing is forced. I point out the BENEFITS and you decide for yourself. :)

Thanks,

Got it. We all have our reasons for marketing what we choose to.

I’d love to read a follow up post from you about this very topic if you get the chance.

“All that to say, Market Leverage is quickly putting themselves as the industry leaders due to creative marketing strategies.”

How are they industry leaders? Have you promoted their products? Have you had to work with your affiliate managers to address issues such as payout and tracking problems? Have you run exclusive offers with them and had success?

…. Or have they just sent you some junk in the mail and like the other ’super affiliates’ getting this crap decided to give up credibility and boast about how great they are?

I applied with ML a little while ago. Now this is the third blog that I’ve read where they received a care package. I hope I get in :)

Dave:

I think you fail to realize that I was not talking about the quality of their service at all. :) I was talking about their marketing strategy, which is quite good.

Thanks :)

You beat me to the punch. I just got my package today. About to post a blog article.

Well marketing strategy is good but not excellent, there are way better marketing ideas than that…

Wade says 21st May @ 16:45

I have been seeing a lot of them lately. Looks like another affiliate network to check out. It would be awesome if we all received a gift package :D I will be signing up soon since Azoogle will never get back with me.

I’ll have to check them out, I still could do with putting my eggs in more baskets so to speak :)

I have to disagree with Mark Olsen. He says you should truly believe in your product to market it. I don’t think you have to believe in a product at all, you just have to believe that your campaign will make you money. I bet those people who market ringtones REALLY believe in their GREAT product of ringtones for $9.99/month. Seriously? No, but they believe that product will produce money for them. This is business.

Jonathan -
You are right. I agree that business is business and that you can promote anything that makes money.

Since I manage a lead gen program quality is of utmost importance to me and my clients.

When you believe in a product - or at least pretend to - you tend to have a passion for it and therefore create better content supporting that product. All of that creates true value resulting in better quality and/or conversion rates whatever the case may be.

We have too many pages created in 5 minutes or one day just to get some money in our hands – spam.
Google is getting better and better at determining where the real value is and over time the passion for a product I am referring to will prove itself in search results.

On the PPC side we might always have those PPC guys who recognize the money to be made via tons of clicks with just a few sales - small conversion rates on a massive scale can work very well. We have to put up with this as spam for right now - hopefully those sites that are most useless and spammy will start to be weeded out at some point in the future.

Affiliate marketing in its true form is true marketing resulting in sales - or leads - and therefore worth the commission paid.

I want one of those “I’m blogging this” shirts… maybe I should join MarketLeverage, just kidding. But really I have yet to hear any reviews of their interior account manager, etc. How good are they really?
