I found your site and post after a specific search while doing research for my new blog. Good SEO work I guess, but it also made you a player in one of my posts.

I got sick of seeing all these scammers trying to piggyback on the US Stimulus package, scammers trying to rip off folks that are already in a lot of trouble. So I started a web site about it.

In case you wonder, you are here: <a href="http://www.freegrantkitscams.com/2009/03/selling-grant-scam.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.freegrantkitscams.com/2009/03/selling-...</a>

Give it a once over. It says it's going to unveil bogus websites related to the STIMULUS. So that's the ones with obama and the stimulus cheque.

Just goes to show that there are a lot of very opportunist, not particularly moral people out there. It's exploiting people who only have a dim understanding of the whole Federal Bailout thing (that being; they've heard of it). Any site claiming to be distributing "bailout checks" if obviously a scam which will suck in uninformed people... and you're right, it gives legit affiliate marketers a bad name, as well as grant organizations which help a lot of people and charities.

Very Sad.

The value of the grant offers in themselves are one thing but the overuse of fake blogs is what we can blame most of the attention on. Not outing anyones pages but they're getting really aggressive (and lazy) like geotargeting pages with javascript. My ISP is in the middle of nowhere - 87 people in that town and I know darn well there that person isn't from there.

I realize most affiliates enjoying the (insert name)bs-story-blog.com are making some coin but you never want to screw with the government... ever. They can find out in seconds if that whois protected blog belongs to a person and verify those testimonials are true.

Kind've sucks because there were some legitimate grant pubs who targeted people who could actually apply for and get those grants but just didn't know if they existed. Reminiscent of affiliate marketing which started as marketing guns for hire and now is a bizopp.
