If you run a BANs store or have ever run the ebay affiliate program, you probably know the whole story about how Ebay left Commission Junction a few months ago to go to their own in house affiliate program.
If you don't know what a BANs store is, it's a script that allows you to build your own "ebay store." When someone wants to buy something, they're taken to the ebay auction page.
You can see more about the BANs script here.
With the Ebay Affiliate program, you get paid up to 75% of the price it cost to put up the item for sale. So, for example, if it cost someone $25 to list an item, you could make up to $18.75 just for referring someone to the ebay auction and they win.
Additionally, with the Ebay Affiliate program, you could make up to $35 bucks if someone signed up for a new ebay account and won an auction! Cool.
Anywho, back on topic...
Following the move to their own affiliate program, Ebay's affiliate program seemed to take a dive in quality and revenue generated. In fact just searching digitalpoint forums, you can see countless threads of people complaining about how the Ebay Affiliate program was tanking.
Today I got an email from Pepperjam Network (highly recommended) that the Ebay affiliate program would now be offered through them as well. Wow!
I believe this move was an effort to try to redeem the Ebay affiliate program. Honestly, If I were running any type of ebay affiliate sites, I'd much rather go through PepperJam Network because of all the stuff I have heard about Ebay's in house program.
Hopefully that will make you guys some extra cash.
I have yet to hear from the BANs guys about whether there will need to be patches or updates for the BANs store in order to be able to run it on PepperJam Networks new program.
Either way, I'm sure the people at BANs are loving the fact that they have to recode and rework their code to work with Ebay's new affiliate program just to go back and have to add more.
I guess that's life though.
Let me know how the new program works for you!
Featured Money Maker Of The Month:

what!!! that is crazy I seen my income tank too from my bans store and wow that would be great if PJN has the ebay aff system on their network!
I’m excited about this as well, because I’m a big user of phpBay so this is definitely something I’m looking forward to.
I’ll definitely split test them. Not a big bans user but do have a few domains that were previously tough to monetize with a good return on my time.
This is great news. eBay’s inhouse tracking system is simply not working.
I guess this is good news. I’m about to start some BANS stores, so this is refreshing news.
Where can I read more information about this and what kind of timeline are we talking about? Can you post PJ’s e-mail?
The concept behind them having it too doesn’t make much sense according to why eBay moved in-house in the first place. I’m not complaining because my revenue has definitely gone down since EPN, just curious.
Well…bad for ebay employees, hopefully good for us!
i am very excited about the addition of PJN. ePN sucks, and i wanna start making some seriuos money again. hopefully their customer service is better as well.
I heard that pepperjamNetwork is working with EPN… whether they are going to keep EPN going I have no idea. In either case, if you ask me, I think its like a eBay/pepperjamNetwork/CJ love triangle.
Just my .02 cents, hopefully we’ll see some better results though. And to think, today (or tomorrow actually) is supposed to be the last day for the eBay program on CJ. If you ask me, wasn’t that supposed to be April 31 (last day.)
Just talked to Kris at PJ on Twitter, he said all tracking, payments, etc. will be handled by PJ, EPN will not be involved.
thank god…i cant take zero income from ebay anymore.
I use phpBay and i JUST had to switch all my stuff to EPN. My earnings have not been that bad in May, but it would be nice to A/B test with perpperjam to see if earnings go up. I gotta ask the phpBay developer if he will support that.
Also, does pepperjam pay out the same as going direct with EPN?
I never have given these much thought to be honest but I will definately find the time to do so.
Great to have an alternative to ePN. It just ain’t working!
