A few money tips for internet marketers.

Sunday, Apr 15th, 2007 by Jonathan Volk

Having my main source of income from the internet for a little while now, I thought I'd share a couple of tips that have helped me.

1. Make sure to pay yourself.
- When I first started making money with websites, I would pour every last penny into marketing. What helped me was getting a high % savings account at a bank that was different than my normal bank.

Having it at a different bank helped me to get both a higher % but more so to not just impulse spend it (because I had to transfer it to use the money).

I recommend HSBCdirect.com... they pay 5.05% interest on your savings account... no fees... and you can start an account with $1.

I normally pay myself 10% of every check / deposit I get.

2. No interest credit cards... :)
- I cant tell you how nice it has been to find a good credit card with 0% interest for 12 months.

I found a great credit card offer from householdbank.com - 12 months 0% interest (on all purchases and transfers) and 2% cash back!!!

householdbank.com has actually been really great. It helps me to make more money because every advertising dollar I spend I get 2% back :)

(PM me for an affiliate link if you want to help me out :) )

3. Watch your figures.
- Be sure to watch every cost to make sure you're making more than you're spending. I own about 30+ sites that I make money with adsense/YPN. At first I would spend so much and not watch how much I was spending that I thought I was making a profit when in fact I was not.

The owner of Godaddy.com puts it best, "All figures that are watched will improve." Be sure to watch every expense and know your Returns.

That's it for now. :)
