About the Author Of This Post
My name is Justin. I'm a full-time affiliate marketer from San Francisco, CA. and the creator of affiliate marketing blog aggregator Affbuzz. When I was first starting I joined a few of the big-name networks and after a few calls with the Affiliate Managers, I got the feeling that unless I was sending them a ton of leads each month, I was nobody to them. That's when I started joining a few smaller networks, where the AM's had less people to deal with and more time to spend helping me. Taking the time to build good relationships with these AM's, has played a vital role in helping me build my business.
Eleah Portillo from AKMG
I have several incredible AM's that all deserve a write-up, but the affiliate manager I'd like to introduce you today is Eleah Portillo from AKMG, a Santa Monica based ad network that treats their affiliates like royalty and gives out sweet skateboard decks at conferences.
Eleah separates herself from other AM's by genuinely wanting to see all of her affiliates succeed. She continuously goes out of her way to get to know me, understand my business, what's working for me and how I prefer to advertise. She's not the type of AM that emails out a list of "top converters" followed up by a once-a-week phone call where she has to look over last week's notes to remember who you are and what you're all about. She's attentive and that helps me make more money.
Once you get something going with AKMG, she'll fight tooth and nail for you to get the highest payouts (and bear in mind standard AKMG payouts are higher than most networks) as well as help brainstorm other possible advertising angles. She'll keep an eye on new offers and give you a heads-up if something comes a long that she feels you can rock.
The number one thing I love about working with Eleah is that she's available on AIM at almost all times, including late nights which is when I get most of my work done. Around 5pm I see most of my Aff. Managers go idle for the day; last night Eleah was boosting my acai payouts at 1:15am. She even helped answer some questions while she was laying poolside in Vegas celebrating her birthday.
Apply For AKMG
AKMG's a top-notch network that strives to maintain excellent relationships with their affiliates and Eleah has really worked closely with me to ensure success. So, if you're an affiliate and not working with AKMG yet, be sure to apply today. For faster approval, request Eleah and mark somewhere on the application that "Justin from Affbuzz" told you to sign up.

Featured Money Maker Of The Month:

Good article, Thanks. my name Philip.
I concur. Eleah is awesome!
Great! Glad to hear it.
Why thank you – I’m oh so flattered I made the list!!! I’m definitely blushing!
I imagine a common thread amongst everyone featured is attentiveness, honesty and a genuine relationship. Don’t forget, we’re rooting for all of our affiliate rockstars and soon-to-be rockstars; your success is our success. Of course, it helps my affiliates happen to be quite cool. I learned from the best, so anyone you work with at AKMG will definitely take care of you….
Congrats on making it on the list.

Good article, Thanks. Thanks.
I always forget to grab a skateboard deck from these guys — totally need to schedule myself a reminder email while at Aff Summit East!
Hahahaha yea. I got one thanks to NickyCakes at one point. He introduced me.
Sounds like a very nice network =)
Justin brought up a very valid point….about how you often get more personal service from smaller networks. I am a part of larger networks where I have been sending them consistent sales but have never ever been contacted by my affiliate manager. With the smaller networks, they are relying on your more to succeed. So these affiliate managers are often willing to go the extra mile. I know my best affiliate manager was from a small network.
Anyway Jon, what made you want to feature your affiliate manager?
