Be sure to apply to my favorite affiliate network, AzoogleAds.

Recently my AM at rocket profit told me about how they recently obtained the website, ringtone.com.

What's great about this is that now that Rocket profit has it's own ringtone service they are cutting out the middle man a lot and can probably offer some of the highest payouts in the industry if you work with them on creating high quality leads.

I logged into rocket profit to expect a higher payout since rocket profit is getting the complete subscription value to see the default payout is only $10.50... Nothing amazing but I'd be willing to bet it could be bumped up.

Either way, it's worth taking a look into since they flat out own the website now.

Many times I have heard of thirteen year old super affiliates and 15 and 16 year old kids that were supposedly making a ton of money online. To be quite honest, I never really believed that they were legit until recently.

The more I work in this industry, the more people I get to know. Out of all these people only a handful of people have stood out to me as very exceptional at marketing in general.

One kid that I have been really impressed with recently is Harrison from CPAShare.

At 16 years old, he makes way more than I do, has an Amex Black card, and even has taught me quite a few tips.

But what's most impressive to me is that he not only does affiliate marketing but also runs a private affiliate network (I can vouch for it since I've seen it), and a local PPC company.

All in all, it's one of those almost unbelievable things to hear that a young guy could be doing so well but he has found his niche and ran with it...

Oh and one other cool thing... he's generous. The other day he sent me $50 in itunes gift cards just so I could get some cool songs!

Pretty cool inspiration I would say. :)

There are many others such as Josh Buckley, who is in his teens making 6 figures a year. Again, he found his niche and ran with it. He's a very intelligent guy who has been working hard and focusing his time on building his skills and has learned what works at an early age.

There are so many more I could mention... A couple are even just 14 and 15...

It's always inspiring and sometimes not so inspiring (makes people like me feel old... and I'm only 21!) to see young people like myself excelling at a rapid rate.

Look for these names later on as I'm sure they will be heavy weights in the internet marketing realm in the future!

That's right. You heard me. I am pretty upset at Market Leverage right now. And I am hoping that this will get their attention enough to stop ignoring me. :) (Because I was ignored the first time)...

The reason being is they seem to be housing and protecting hackers...

What do I mean? Well let me tell you my story...

A couple weeks ago my good friend (who will remain nameless) had realized that his site got hacked. He was so ticked off because he sends so much volume (we're talking $20,000+ a day in commissions) through his site that the few hours that he lost during this time cost him THOUSANDS of dollars.

Some annoying hacker had hacked into his site, installed a backdoor, and redirected his links to go to some market leverage offers.

Thankfully the Market leverage affiliate links have the publishers ID right in the link. Problem solved right? WRONG.

Actually... After contacting market leverage, nothing happened and nothing has happened. No information was turned over to any individual...

Today, I logged into one of my sites and what do you know. Some Son of a gun from Market Leverage hacked into one of my accounts and redirected my links to... MARKET LEVERAGE. Wow.

The result of this person hacking my links is still unknown but one thing I do know is that I will not stop talking poorly about Market Leverage until they tell me who the publisher with this ID is so I can pursue him or her in whatever means possible... If they want to protect hackers and keep allowing them in their network, then I sure as heck don't want to be working with them!

That being said, every hacker experience my close friends have had has been a result of someone redirecting links to market leverage. All I can say is... until they contact me and try to fix this, I will not be recommending them to anyone.

EDIT: So far Marketleverage has been pretty good about dealing with the issue and very responsive. I'll wait to tell you the results and what happens to this... publisher. I'm hoping to have him removed from every network by posting his information publicly (when or if I get it) and notifying every network I know of about his traffic.

Most of the time affiliate landing page websites don't really offer anything of value on their own website. The purpose of the website is to have the visitor move on to the advertisers website as quickly as possible to go make you some money.

Let's take a typical ringtone landing page for example...

(this is just a random page I pulled from google...always copy and paste the url... never click)

See, once the visitor gets to your website, the main purpose is for them to leave as quickly as possible. Once they click a carriers button, onto the next website they go. Here comes your payday...

The more I get into affiliate marketing though, the more I realize how quickly these type of websites are moving out of the picture and how actual quality websites are moving into the picture.

As you may know, the most recent Google Slap was geared towards many affiliates. Your job as an affiliate (specially if you got slapped) is to figure out what you think made your page get slapped? What was unique about the sites that didn't get slapped?

My opinion on this is that soon the actual sites we are making will have to offer something more of value to the visitor. This is why pages such as review pages and such are less likely to get slapped while a page that has a single offer on it is very likely to get slapped. Make sense?

That being said, I'd prepare now in your new campaigns to offer your visitors something of value, namely information. Take a little more time to research offers, actually find the ones that people are happy with.

These type of sites are actually better in a few aspects... For one, your quality score is going to be much better. Second, you're much more likely to be able to promte these type of offers using social book marketing because, again, you're offering something of value. Third, you just feel better doing it. :)

That's just my take on it though... Never know with google...

Well, it's official. I will be going to Affiliate Summit East! :) I am really looking forward to this!

With Affiliate Marketing, networking is a big part of success. I contribute a lot of my success to knowing so many people in the market and both giving and receiving information! (Please note GIVING information... not just receiving...)

Before I get more into Affiliate Summit stuff I wanted to post this short quote from Neil Patel's post today:

For example, 2 years ago I noticed that TechCrunch was not optimized for search engines. I decided to email Michael Arrington, on how he could make TechCrunch search engine friendly. For a few months he didn’t respond, but sooner or later he did.

Once Michael responded to me, he asked me how much it would cost for my help and I told him that I would do it for free. Within 2 weeks I doubled his search traffic and he was pleased. He then asked me if there was anything he could do for me and I told him that if he knew anyone that needed marketing help, it would be great if he mentioned my name.

Within minutes Michael emailed a few of his friends that ran Venture Capital funds and told them how I doubled his search traffic. But instead of his friends contacting me, they mass emailed all of the companies they funded, telling them to hire me. This led me to build relationships with many of the people insides Michael’s network, which has done wonders for my business.

[Source]

As you can see, networking is important and I think Affiliate Summit is one of the best places to do this!

I was planning on attending but before I could purchase my tickets, the amazing people over at AzoogleAds offered to buy the tickets (and plane tickets) for me! Sweet!

As you'll notice, not too long ago, AzoogleAds just got me a big 52" Flat Screen LCD TV... and now, this! :)

I guess there is another lesson in this... Loyalty counts! Although I used to switch links to other affiliate networks on a few cents increase in pay, I really don't recommend this or do this any more. Instead, just be loyal to your favorite networks and they'll hook you up usually more than you could ever get anywhere else!

Ok... back to Affiliate Summit East...

Sadly, this is my first Affiliate Summit but I am VERY excited to see everyone and meet many of you.

Come ready with business cards and a photo ID... Oh and if you need business cards, I know of a great place where you can get free business cards called Vista Print (hahahahahaha... You know you would do it too... ;))

Jokes aside, I can't wait to meet all of you who are going and for those of you who are not going, I will see you at the next one hopefully. :)

Thanks again AzoogleAds (And Ryan)!

Premium wordpress themes are always a really great way to start up a website.

If you're looking to start an information site or a blog of any sort, I have a good theme for you! This theme is similar to some of the very expensive professional wordpress themes and yet won't cost you as much as some of them.

This theme is called one theme.

The nice thing about this theme besides it being very nice looking is that you get Five color schemes, lifetime upgrades, gravatar ready comments, and most importantly adsense ready... ;)

Another really sweet feature about this theme is that they have a custom control panel for controlling the themes colors and options! To me that speaks volumes as to the quality of the product.

Lastly, the way the menus are designed is also very sleek and professional.

Possible Affiliate Uses:
Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend using one theme for a PPC affiliate landing page in the traditional sense, I think it could do amazingly well in other areas. Mainly, I think this theme could do well in a SEO affiliate setting.

Wordpress has always been known to do fairly well with search engines, especially with the All in one SEO plugin. ;)

The theme makers also claim that it is optimized for SEO purposes so it's good to know that they have taken that into consideration!

Basically with this, you want to write numerous articles surrounding keywords that you think (or know) will be targeting the type of traffic you want. Obviously you don't want to aim for broad areas but rather more targeted precise keywords (long tail keywords). Although your results wont be instant, your profit margins will be much higher than mine... ;)

Cost:
The cost for this theme is only $99 which is good when comparing to other premium themes of this caliber.

If you're interested in the theme, you can click here for more information.

Last night I was rushing to get a campaign up and add to a current one. It was around 1 AM so I was doing it as fast as I could so that I could sleep and see the sweet benefit of hard work in the morning.

Well, I learned a hard lesson on why you shouldn't rush...

First of all the campaign budget that I lost money on is $7,000 and normally I don't come close to that budget... Well today I woke up and BAM $7,000 spent in adwords. I quickly login to azoogleads... $3,500.

CRAP! What happened I thought to myself... I check the new adgroup that I added last minute to find that one of the adgroups I added I accidentally set the bids to $45 instead of $0.45... Yup that's right $45 dollars per click. OUCH.

So I was paying anywhere from $15 to $8 for keywords that I could probably get away with bidding $0.30 cents on for third position...

Yea. It sucked.

Mark this day as the biggest loss for me ever in one day, $3,500 lost.

It's ok though, I'll just have to make my profit margins increase in whatever way I can...

For the longest time I loathed Google Adwords Editor for one main reason...

I would want to download a campaign to a CSV and edit it within excel (because that is soooo much easier than editing it in the actual editor). When I would go to upload the campaign, I would realize that the only way you can upload the campaign via the Adwords Editor is through the encrypted .AEA files.

For a long time I searched on how to make this work and saw that some people use macros and external programs to get this to work and well... I didn't want to do that.

After thinking about how the adwords Editor works... I figured a way to do it fairly efficiently and with very little extra work.

Basically, because the adwords editor checks for incorrect values and such, you can utilize this for your advantage!!!

So, let's go through the whole process...

Download a CSV campaign using the Adwords Editor

  • First, you'll need Adwords Editor.
  • Next, right click on a campaign and click export to CSV.
  • Edit campaign in excel.

Upload A CSV Campaign to Adwords using the Adwords Editor

  • First Select ALL (Ctrl+A) and Copy (Ctrl+C)
  • Go into Adwords Editor and click on the keywords tab. Click Make multiple changes -> Add / Update Multiple Keywords.
  • Click my campaign information below includes column information...
  • Paste the entire campaign into the box and hit ok.
  • You'll notice that Adwords Editor filters out the ads as incorrect formats. Sweet.
  • Now, click the ad tab, add multiple ads and again paste the entire campaign.
  • Now you'll need to go through and if this is a new campaign (or renamed), you will need to set adgroup bids and enter the remaining campaign information on the tabs.

Editing campaigns in this format really saves me a lot of time and I hope that it can save you a lot of time too... :)

8thJuly

Adwords Editor

Adwords Editor is the affiliate marketers playground.

Really, if you're doing any type of PPC marketing, you should be using the Adwords Editor to build your campaigns because it does speed things up a lot. This post really isn't on how to use adwords editor though. It's simple enough that it won't take long before you're a pro at making campaigns...

Rather, this post is about how NOT to use adwords editor.

The other night, Tyler Cruz and I were talking and he reminded me of a good point about the adwords Editor.

With Adwords Editor, if you're trying to upload a huge campaign, you're going to run into some huge problems.

When you try to upload a large campaign with say 10,000+ keywords, you might run into a problem posting the campaign changes. When you start getting into the 100,000+ keyword arena you face even more problems such as your computer slowing down to a crawl (even with 2-4 GB of ram).

Essentially the trick with uploading large campaigns is to break the campaigns into smaller chunks.

I try not to upload more than a few thousand keywords at a time if that.

See, with google, the important part is not so much having 100,000 keywords, it's finding the profitable keywords and expanding those.

Hope that helps!

Hey Guys! Congrats to the Market Leverage Contest Winners!

I put in a short 3 second clip of my new car.

It's a beautiful Honda 2008 CR-V. It has custom rims, navigation, dvd player, and tinted windows. It's very nice to drive and most importantly, my girlfriend loves it a lot. A happy woman makes a happy man. ;) "Happy wife, happy life..."

Again, congrats to the winners!
