Be sure to apply to my favorite affiliate network, AzoogleAds.

I always go through back links to this blog and read the posts that are linking to this site. If I can, I try to comment on every page that comments about me in a post to show I'm thankful. (If I have not commented on a post you wrote about me, let me know and I will!)

The other day I was going through and found a post by 365tofreedom.com. He mentioned that my RSS icon was going to the wordpress RSS and not through feedburner so my stats were not being counted.

Jonathan, if you’re reading this, you might want to make the RSS links on your blog point to your FeedBurner URL. If someone clicks on the RSS icon in your address bar or the big RSS image under “RSS Subscribe” they’re not being included in your FeedBurner count. I’d be willing to bet you have a lot more than 122 subscribers (as of today).

I had not even noticed that I made this mistake... Thanks!

So, that being said, if you're subscribed to the direct RSS, if you would not mind, take the time to subscribe through the feedburner RSS. That way I can get a bit more accurate number of readers and such.

And if you have not yet subscribed, now is a perfect time!

Thanks! I'm going to get back to my birthday now!

Well today is my 21st birthday. I'm no longer a "tweener." (In between teenager and 21)

I received a very nice bottle of wine from my affiliate manager at Azoogleads, Ryan Sessler so tonight I plan on having a nice family dinner and drinking a bit of nice wine.

midori-sour-13270.jpgAlthough I dont really drink or plan on it, I do plan on trying this one drink called a Midori Sour (see picture).

Now I have no birthdays to look forward to till the big 3.0.

Some of the things I am buying myself as a present: Macbook Air (can someone say, 'write-off?'), Remote Control Helicopter (6 way), New clothes for India.

On Saturday I'm going with some friends to a place called Dave and Busters. If you've never heard of it, it's like a grown up Chuck E Cheese.

Essentially, you pay around $20 bucks for dinner and then you get X amount of "credits" for games. After dinner, you go crazy and have fun playing games. Sounds fun. :)

A great way to find great new affiliate offers is to ask your Affiliate Manager what is performing really well.

Most of the time, your affiliate manager can give you a list of the top X performing offers for the past X days. This can really be useful in essentially finding campaigns to reverse engineer. After all, if it's a top performer, it's making some people some cash... Why not you?!

So take a look at some of the offers and find one you think might be of interest to you. I generally like to pick certain niches that are more likely to convert (I explain what kind of niches these are in Affiliate Unleashed guides).

Now that you have your offer, try searching in the search engines what people are bidding on. Copy and paste the URLs from the sponsored ads and see what type of keywords people have on their page. I find looking at other landing pages can often spark ideas for keywords that may prove to be VERY profitable. :)

When starting a campaign like this, I like to try bidding on broad, phrase, and exact match keywords.

I hope this helps you get started on making some extra money. :)

29thJanuary

Adwords DeSlappage

Recently I had a campaign doing really well. There was one main keyword bringing in a huge amount of traffic.

Things were great but then BOOM, Google Slap. POOR Quality score from a GREAT quality score (with a $0.02 min bid) literally over night.

So what did I do? Nothing. I left it there. It was deactivated and I found other ways to get traffic till I could work on that keyword's issue.

This morning I look and after about 3 days, it seems the quality score got recalculated again. Odd. Now I can run the keyword with no issues.

This goes to show that sometimes you just need to give it a couple days before you make any huge changes.

I always loved reading these posts and so I decided to post my own version.

My week generally consists of about 3 really large time groups that take up most of my time: Work, Church, Maria (Girlfriend) / Family.

Saturdays, Mondays, and Tuesdays are the only full days of work that I do. All the other days are part time hours that are involved in church or family events.

On a normal Monday, I generally sleep in till about 8:30 or 9:00. I'm not doing this because I'm lazy but because I generally am up working really late the previous night. For some reason I seem to get a lot of work done in the midnight hours.

After I wake up, I go get fixed up a bit. Brush my teeth, wash up, etc. I dont like to stay in my boxers / pajamas all day as it seems to have some odd effect on me that makes me less productive. I guess the saying dress for success has some truth to it? Heh.

After this, I generally turn on some music and get the emails going, do a couple quick checks on some stats, and then hit the ground running. On Tuesdays, this is the time I would then work out for about 30 minutes. I used to really be in shape but affiliate marketing has made my focus go more towards work. The resulting less physical activity has taken a bit of a toll and I gained around 15 pounds. I'm still fairly skinny though and I'm working on turning that 15 lbs into muscle.

After this I get working on some campaigns. This is the time where I optimize, split test ads, work on any small changes and see what I can do to increase.

After working on all these tweaks and answering emails, it's about lunch time. I need to work on optimizing my time to be a bit more productive before lunch, but I enjoy slower mornings.

For lunch I like to take an entire hour to relax. I find it actually helps me work better even if I am really busy. I usually have a sandwich and a coke or a jones soda. The best tasting soda in the world is the Jones berry lemonade - If you have not tried it, I HIGHLY recommend it. I think you can find them @ Safeway or Sam's club.

After lunch is when I get the majority of my campaign research and development done. It's the time bracket I take to read up on new niches I'm looking into and finding new ways to get more traffic to my high converters.

That brings me to a little tip: If you find a high converting offer and you're making 100%+ profit expand the niche as much as possible. Any means of profitable traffic should be explored. That's a little extra freebie for ya!

The rest of my day really is spent working on campaigns, dinner time, and about an hour (or three) of relax time before bed. I generally watch some TV and then read my Bible. After all this, I then set everything else aside and get out my list. What do I need to get done? I write out a list and then order them from A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, etc. All the A's need to be done before I do the B's. All the B's before the C's and so on.

Listing what you need to get done is the sure way to optimize your productivity.

If you're struggling and a part time affiliate looking to become full time, take this advice from someone who does it full time. Use your time as wisely as possible as it's the one thing you'll never, ever get back. Itemize what you need to do and organize it into importance. Write your vision and make it clear.

So you're probably wondering what I do on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays?

Well on those days I volunteer at my church from 8:00 AM till 1 PM in the office. It's awesome, I love it. After 1PM I go home and work a little bit but not a huge amount.

Sundays for me are family days. I hang out with my girlfriend, Maria, and my family all day or as long as I possibly can. It's great because it allows me to rejuvenate and kinda just relax for an entire day.

So, that's pretty much my entire week right there. :)

Hope you enjoyed.

Affiliate networks are amazing. I cannot tell you how much the people over at Azoogleads, HydraMedia, Neverblueads, and Incentaclick have helped me. There are so many upsides to affiliate networks like this that I'm not even going to attempt to list them here.

But think about this for a moment.

Where do all the other affiliates go to find offers to promote? I'll give you a hint: Azoogleads, HydraMedia, Neverblueads, etc.

Finding a good, reliable website with it's own in house affiliate program can often prove to be more beneficial strictly because of the less competition factor. This is especially true if you can find a group of keywords with a relatively high amount of traffic and low competition (Yes, keywords like this still do exist.)

It's been on my objective list for a while to find some new niches that are not in those networks and I know it's going to pay off. Why? Simply because there is going to be a much more open market.

Where is a great place to look?

Today I talked about Honda with a friend. He was telling me that originally every person applying for a position in the factory was trained on every step of the product line.

So now Mr. Tire installer is not only installing new tires but is also there to spot any thing that might not look right.

This allowed the company to be very detail oriented and put them very far ahead.

The same principle applies to affiliate marketing. Its all about the details!

Just optimizing a campaign can result in a massive profit increase... So why not?

PS. I'm getting to your questions they are awesome! Keep them coming.

Ok guys, round two. For those who missed round 1, you can read the questions and answer here.

Feel free to ask me any question. I'll answer the best questions as best as I can.

I am going to be going to India for 10 days on February 14th and coming back on the 24th. (Yea, I'm leaving on Valentines day... my girlfriend was very excited to hear that... hahaha) This means that I'll be unable to attend Affiliate Summit West but I hope to attend some conferences this year a little bit later down the line.

What I'm going to do is post complete, detailed posts on each question during the days I'm gone and have them post dated so that I'll have new posts every day while I'm gone. I'll be able to read and interact with you guys still since my hotel in India will have internet access but I didn't want to have to write anything while I'm there. :)

Looking forward to hearing your questions! They can be about anything from internet marketing to personal.

I got to be featured as a guest poster on the popular site, www.JohnChow.com! John Chow from what I understand get's around 45,000 unique visitors a day (He says that the number of visitors is about 3x the amount of subscribers - 15,000).

My post on John Chow was in response to my earlier post about google quality score.

You can read the post on John Chow HERE.

Let me know what you think!

Please note: These are all tips that work for me. Some people have posted on John Chow claiming to be experts that may disagree but whatever. ;)
