Be sure to apply to my favorite affiliate network, AzoogleAds.

Perhaps one of the most important things to know when selling online is to point out the features benefits of a product.

There are some exceptions (such as web hosting), but for the most part people dont want to know all the technical details right away. They want to know, how is this going to benefit me? The best way of doing this is by using a technique I call, "The Feature Benefit Technique." I didnt invent this technique, I just dont know the technical term. :P

For example with windows. Many windows are double pane windows now... Now a days most people know the benefits, but some may not! Let's think about some of the benefits:

  • Saves energy costs.
  • Increases home value.

So now, if you're trying to sell windows you could do something similar to, "Save energy costs and increase home value by using double pane windows."

Perhaps one of the most amazing examples of this technique was on a radio ad my Dad told me about today.

This window company was talking about how they can install your windows and give you a new heater for practically $0. You think, well how can this be? Essentially the ad goes on to say that they will replace your windows and heater for as little as $25 a week and that you'll save so much on your energy bill by updating from single pane windows and updating your old water heater that you'll save $25 or more per week on energy costs. Resulting in a net $0 cost to you.

How brilliant is that?

Now compare that to an ad that says, "we have the best service... we are the top company ever!1111... etc."

I love the art of selling. It's really amazing. In fact the ad was so compelling, my sister (who just bought a house today by the way - congrats to her and her husband to be) is going to have them do it. I bet that ad has some crazy high conversion rates.

Now the real question. How can we apply this to affiliate marketing? More to come soon. :)

TTZ Media Ads

TTZ Media Ads is a fairly new system put out by John Chow. Essentially TTZ Media is an ad system similar to widgetbucks except this one doesn't slow your site down to a crawl.

What's nice about TTZ media is they pay a consistent cost per click and give you a raise as you send them more traffic! If you send them 1000 or less clicks, you get $0.15 per click.

Here is the breakdown:

Up to 1000 - 0.15
Up to 2000 - 0.18
Up to 3000 - 0.22
Up to 4000 - 0.25
Beyond 0.30

Not bad! I'm going to be doing a test on this blog and see how well the CTR and such is. I also plan to test it out on a couple of my other sites.

What to go with? TTZ or widgetbucks?
After all the scandals going on with widgetbucks (Just go to digitalpoint affiliate forums, you can read 10's of threads there), I think it might be better to try out TTZ Media as an adsense alternative first.

The other benefits over Widgetbucks is the loading time. It really loads a LOT faster than widgetbucks, which can have a large effect on your CTR.

It's worth checking out, if for no other reason than having the chance to win a 22" monitor. :) (Everyone who applies, get's accepted and puts ads on their site, get a chance to win 1 of (2) 22" monitors.) Good launch campaign.

Let me know how well it works for you!

I think this might be a good way to do some arbitrage. :) The nice thing about arbitraging it with this system is that you have a set CPC! This allows you to really work some statistics on profitability right away. All you need to do is find your CTR from your adwords / yahoo traffic and you've got the perfect formula for some easy cash. :)

Hope that helps.

What is your passion?

While in Los Angeles (Nov 7-12th) I talked to a guy named Rob who really got me thinking. Rob is a young guy like me (I think he's 25ish) and he's being personally mentored by an internet millionaire.

All the details aside he ended up telling me about his interview with this internet millionaire. The guy asked him 2 questions. What is it you can do? Rob told me he started to list off countless random jobs: "I can file, I can work a computer, I can ..."

The internet millionaire stops him and says, "That's great but... let me rephrase that. What is it you can stay up till 1 in the morning working on and then get up the next morning at 6am and not be sick of it." (Something like that)

I really liked that question.

So, what is it you can do? For me, it's internet marketing. :)

Interesting Google Ad

This is a pretty interesting google ad I found while doing some research tonight.

I never knew you could do the display URL like this.

verizon.png

The last part shows: --click.info

Pretty good exploit if you ask me.

EDIT: Decided to look further into the domain... WHOIS.

Seems to be registered to "Verizon Trademark Services LLC?"

$1000 Project

This guy is quite smart. Essentially the owner of this site is giving away $1000 every 1000 hours. While this is the main reason why he is getting traffic, which has now reached 4000 unique views per day, he actually does post some pretty good information.

I first saw this site on shoemoney's top commenter list (which always has some interesting sites on it). I was intrigued with this idea the moment I saw it. It not only provides information about making money online but it also provides money. It's pretty neat.

It seems that this business model has been working for him as he has been giving away $250 prizes, $100 prizes, $50 prizes seemingly left and right. This gives us the indication that he is going into the hole or is actually making some good cash on this site.

Estimated earnings:
With 4000 unique views per day, I'd estimate he's making at least a few thousand per month. Maybe $2,000 - $4,000... maybe more. Who knows, maybe he'll come on this blog and let us know.

Now, here is the fun part.

While internet marketing, it's important to note what works. This system seems to be working, and working well for him. What we can do is emulate his system and apply it to internet marketing.

So my challenge to you is think of an idea that could use a similar system (without being a blatant copy) and figure a way to capitalize on it to market your affiliate products / links.

You can post them here, or just keep them to yourself. :)

Apple Advertisements

I dont know about you, but Apple sure has some of the best marketing guys in the business.

Their commercials are great, their ads are great, their site is great.

One of the most recent ad campaigns they have released is a very expensive (I'm sure) duo ad that essentially interacts with one another. Sounds confusing? Watch the video below:

I tried my best to answer all the questions. If I missed something, I'll be sure to answer it next time. :)

Browie Says:
Come on, give us a clue to exactly how much you are bringing in a month?

Rank them in money making or whatever: adsense, ysm, adcenter

Ever thought about doing a JV with a another guy?

Are you a loner or do you have a writer, coder, blah blah?

Last month I made around $20,000 USD. This month is going to be a bit more. My focus right now is trying to get AffiliateUNLEASHED.com released.

Right now it's YSM, Adwords, Adcenter, Adsense, Widgetbucks, YPN, etc. (If I understood your question correctly)

I am actually working on 2 joint ventures right now. As some may know, I joined up with a good friend of mine for affiliate unleashed. The second joint venture is a secret for now. :)

I have 1 employee, Erin. She's great! She does a lot of my writing and campaign stuff. All the coding and graphics I do myself because I enjoy it and I like to put a lot of tracking stuff on my pages.

ClarkeW Says:

What PPC network do you get the best ROI with?

Adwords, YSM, or Adcenter?

That depends on the campaign. I ran 1 campaign in google a while back that I could bid 0.30 per click. In yahoo I could only bid about 0.15 per click and still make a profit. Overall, they both seem to even out. Adcenter is the one that is random for me. I'll find a great niche every once in a while that will give me 300% returns through adcenter. Other times, the traffic can be not profitable at all.

Tyler Gresham Says:

How are you doing today?

Just kidding, I have a real question too, how long have you been working online, and learning about how to make money online?

I'm doing well. ;) I've been trying to make money online since 2004, when I started a hosting business with my dad. I had made websites many years before that, never for profit though. Most of my learning came in 2004 till now.

Rob Says:

What’s the single most important skill do you think to succeed in affiliate and ppc marketing?

Is it technical skill like webmastering, programming, or kind of analytical skill, or marketing skill?

Thanks! Rob

Personally, I think it's analytical skill and persistence. You need to never give up. If a campaign doesn't work, figure out a way to make it work... specially if others are making money doing it. Analytical skill is so important. Knowing what converts and what does not is crucial. You could have an unprofitable campaign turned profitable, just by removing a few keywords. Thankfully, I enjoy statistics but many people do not. Now, for those of you who do not enjoy sitting over a plethera of excel sheets and mysql databases, Affiliate Unleashed just may be something you'll want to look into in the near future. ;) Hehe...

One other thing about persistence. I have failed many times doing pay per click campaigns. Dont allow that to make you give up. Find enjoyment out of it and do not give up.

Brandon Says:

When you create a keyword list for an offer, how many do you start out with to test the offer and how targeted are they? Say, for a free ipod.. how broad would you go to target that offer?

This is one area I'm going to be touching upon heavily in the Affiliate Unleashed member area. People have a common misconception that you need 100,000 keywords to be successful. It's not always true. You actually can be quite successful with 10-50 keywords... it's just a matter of finding out what converts.

As for free ipod, there are literally millions of keywords you could do. Sure people will search for free ipod, but that's going to be costly to rank for. Perhaps bid on people searching for music artists and songs and such. Why? Because that is directly targeted to the item you're promoting... a music player.

Jeremy Says:

Where do you get your keywords from? How do you pick keywords?

How do you decide which campaigns should be promoted on: adwords, yahoo and msn?

Do you direct link to affiliates, build a site or both?

What niche could you make easy money with, is there one?

Do you advertise on other advertising networks besides adwords, msn and yahoo and if so which ones.

I think those are enough for now :)

God Bless,
Jeremy

I get most of my initial keywords from Wordze. You can read my review on that HERE.

As for how I pick them, you can read the question above. It's pretty similar.

Direct linking. I only do this a handful of times. You can read about one such experience HERE. I made a quick $200 bucks. I give good examples of when direct linking is the best. :)

Easiest niche: ringtones (use azoogleads for ringtones) and dating (use neverblueads).

I advertise on some other networks, but not other PPC networks. I have tried facebook, adbrite, and some banner exchange websites.

petra1 Says:

What was the first campaign you started making money off and did u you use a landing page?

I started making money affiliate marketing using all direct linking methods. I believe the first campaign I did was a campaign for ringtones, directly linking via google. It worked for a while but then died down. I find most direct linking campaigns die down after a while. I use landing pages for almost everything now.

Benjamin Says:

1) What offers are you promoting
2) What keywords are you using for them
3) Which adcopy is working the best for each offer
4) Your bank account number

Heh, kidding. Real question here: How is the Amazon thing coming along? Any updates for us? I am considering venturing into PPC -> High-end Amazon products as well, and probably even eBay in the near future.

Ben

Hahaha. Oh and here is my Social security number too: ... ;)

The amazon thing is coming along slowly. I've tried out about 5-6 products, none have been profitable. Doh! I've been so consumed with Affiliate Unleashed that I have not had a huge amount of time to really focus on it. I might put it on pause and revisit once I have some more time. Thanks for asking / reminding me. :)

Tom Says:

What do you think is the simplest thing to make money online ? Not that I think there is something easy, but what gives the easiest or fastest results ?

Easy. Pay per click. Even if you just wrote an ebook about something you consider yourself an expert on (with the exception of making money online - it's over saturated), and put it in a Pay per click campaign. Pay per click is perhaps one of the most efficient ways to test something without a huge amount of invested time.

yeikow Says:

a) How many hours a day do you usually work?

b) Do you sometimes feel it’s a lonely type of work?

c) If you someone had 12h/day free, massive motivation to succeed in this business and basic understanding of the online world: what is the shortest time you think he could reasonably expect to take to make $100/day? (1 week, 1 month, 6months, 6 years… :D)

d) how can one get in touch with you

And last but not least, digging a bit deper…
e) Do you find your work fulfilling, do feel like you are giving your deepest gift by spending your waking hours working as an affiliate manager?

Cheers!

I work anywhere from 0 hours per day (on holidays) to 15+ hours a day. :) It depends on my mood. I generally work ~8 hours and then go try to do something else. I'm a guy who can sit alone and not talk to anyone for hours. So personally I dont find it lonely. If I get lonely, then I just talk to my girlfriend or go on a forum. :)

If you had 12 hours a day and are very motivated you could succeed very shortly. The difference between being successful now and being successful later is being teachable. Learn from those who are actually making money and chuck the advice of those who are not. I've set up campaigns before in just a few days that have made me $100+ / day. It's not impossible to succeed. Personally, I think if you had that kind of time and dedication, mixed with a great affiliate system / guide (cough affiliate unleashed cough), you would be able to succeed in a month or two.

As for contacting me: I will be offering direct consultation via Affiliate Unleashed for personal suggestions and such. Otherwise, you're looking @ the method you can use to contact me. :) Obviously I can't give out my personal information to everyone. As it is, I get asked for help multiple times a week from people on DP and via email. Now, that's not a bad thing! It's simply that I cant spend all my time helping others or else I would have nothing to give out as advice ;)

As a final question, this is a great one. :)

I find my work very fulfilling. Why? Because it enables me to give. My heart is for people. I love giving to people. On earth, we can gain an innumerable amount of wealth, toys, and cars but when we die, it will amount to nothing. The wealth I am able to gain through this business allows me to invest into the eternal things such as paying for children in Africa to learn and have food... or for a pastor to have an education... or for a struggling addict on skid row (LA) to see breakthrough and be free from drugs.

If you think about it, there is nothing more fulfilling than being able to change someone else for the better. And you know what, vision like that takes 2 things, work and money. I know I can and will continue to provide at least 1 of those aspects to any area that I can.

This is where my true passion is.

What does it mean to be a white label?
Wikipedia:

A white label product or service is a product or service produced by one company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they made it.

Affiliate White Labels:
Essentially, as an affiliate white label, you're creating an entire site as if you were the owner of that product or service. Things such as the sign up form (and/or purchase form) and customer support are generally done directly through your site. At the end of the purchase, the order is invisibly sent to the white label site, giving you a commission.

These sites are many, many, many times more difficult to put together than a standard affiliate website but the rewards for doing so is huge. Let's take a look at some of the benefits that a white label offers you:

  • Data. You get to keep / store all data used on your application form / purchase form. This means for every sale or application, you're able to create a potential lead to another product or service. Now you can go wide and promote other related services using traffic that you've already paid for!
  • Payouts. Generally, as a white label you're going to receive higher payouts than a normal affiliate network payout. I've seen some as much nearly double.
  • Promotion. Now you can others promote your site for YOU!
  • Statistics. Because you have a LOT more control over the data / leads you're generating, you're going to be able to watch things a lot more closely. You can use this information to greatly increase your sales and allow for higher payouts to both your advertisers or pay per click costs.
  • Many more...

Where can you find white labels?
The value of having a white label site is amazing. But where can you find these white labels? That's the question! Generally I have found that finding good white labels is a difficult process. You really need to search through actual companies to find if they will allow you to white label for them.

A great place to start would be looking through your affiliate networks. Contact the affiliate manager and ask if the site would allow you to do it. So far, that's the only really good way to do it. Make sure to do it in a niche you know is profitable and working for you, otherwise you're going to spend a lot of time and money for nothing.

How to spot a white label.

Now that I know, I see them all the time. You'll often see sites that say something similar to, "We're not actually a ______, but we match you up with the best service / product based on your application / purchase."

It's a very generic statement but you get the point (hopefully).

Anywho, there is some information about white labeling for you! Hope it helps.
